Great bang for the buck!
Purchased to get bi-directional control at a reasonable price. Previously used the Launch CR129X. That tool worked well, just no bi-directional control. Immediately put it to use on a 1999 Olds 88 (evap diag), controlled the purge and vent valves as required. Then a 2008 Nissan Xterra to check trans temps after bypassing the trans cooler in the radiator (prone to failure). Nissan hides the temp pids, or at least makes it difficult to find, but the X-431 found them and displayed both trans fluid temp pids. Nice tool, cool concept and design...

Best ROI For DIY Mechanics. Must Buy
First things first… I’m a weekend warrior type of mechanic. My skill set is following others YouTube videos and just coping them. I have various scanners such as: BlueDriver, iCarsoft, and Foxwell. The BlueDriver is my go to for ease as an Enhanced reader, but sometimes it doesn’t work or like cars such as Land Rover, Jag, and Volvos. Also BlueDriver isn’t bi-directional So why I love the Launch scanner? It’s like having every makes $1000+ bi-directional software in one device. Honestly there is nothing I can think of I can’t do with it. Because I have so many various car brands and always changing cars, this is a must for me. Still haven’t used more than 20% of its capabilities and hope to learn more about its features. The scanner has paid for its self many times over and has saved me from buying cars with bad engines. Yes, use this as a pre-purchase inspection. This scanner does come with 2-years of free updates. After I think it’s $200 a year… ouch!

NOT A US MODEL
CAUTION!!! - Amazon is not an US authorized seller for this item. Model is an International one ---- would NOT work on my vehicle for some special functions. Good Luck because customer support is via email to China

Ford Technician Approved!
I am long time ford dealer senior master technician. I wanted something that was easier and quicker than IDS to move around. Especially diagnosing quickly in the lot. I am so impressed with this tools abilities and so many features it mimics from IDS flawlessly or even better! PATs, PMIs, relative compression, KAM resets, really saves time and money. Can't wait to use it on other manufactures than ford. Would definitely purchase again

Best Investment
I love this product! Fast and easy. Very responsive to anything you need done through the program. Has plenty of programs that are updated daily which you need wifi in order to update! Overall my experience with Launch has been awesome!

Robust "little" tool
I want to hate this thing, I dislike this form factor. However this has been a useful tool. I have worked on a 2000 VW Beetle, 2001 Audi A6, 2005 Chevy Avalanche, 2012 Chevy Malibu and a 2013 Buick Regal. Doing some hard work like programing a key fob, diagnosing ABS brakes, and figuring out door locks. This unit has worked out with no problems. It won't program the immobilizer on the VW or Audi but this is due to the lack of information on the vehicles, so the jury is still out on that. It would be nice to have some information about the reports you can make and possibly send to customers. I am guessing most of the information is online with launch, I just feel that the unit could have been sent with something. This product will have to grow on me just a little before I love it. I was able to work on two cars most of the day on a single charge, and would say I could have done a third. The new generation of mechanic will appreciate the form factor.

Snapon to Launch
I have been a Snapon scan tool user for years and have been getting tired of the high subscription fees. So was in the market for a new scan tool. I was hesitant to buy one of these units even if I knew that they are very powerful because I felt like the menus and general operation of the unit would be too difficult to use. I really bought this unit as a test more affordable entry to the line as a way of acclimating myself to the new software and I impressed so far. I have used the unit on a few are now and there are a few things that will take getting use to but for the most part it is intuitive. I am look forward to purchasing a more powerful unit in the Launch line up soon.

Not a 2022 version! Is a long review, read on! Works well, but it can be better.
As weekend mechanic a tool like this is an amazing resource for fast troubleshooting. I have owned Launch and another brands but I like the size of it and practicality. Bi-directional A+ feature. Now the no so good! The is outdated to today's standards as is running on Android 7 and there would not be an Android upgrade as the hardware is also outdated so it would not run newer software. Now take an consideration that you can install the same software in your phone or tablet and pair the Bluetooth reader with it an now you have an updated system. Only works in one device at a time as pretty much you are buying a software license for a 2 year period with free software updates. Noted that software updates is mainly small addons and bug fixes on the cars systems and not the device itself, also after the two years you still can use the device without the updates unless you pay. Another thing is that isn't going to be compatible with most new cars and also the reset functions aren't universal to any vehicle. Bottom-line, Small, handy, works well. Outdated hardware. Comes with solid huge case but with a bunch of worthless adaptors for cars you will never see in the USA, they need to reconfigure this package and sell specific connectors separately maybe price go down a bit and a English manual that explain what the heck are all the extra wires for. I think most people will be more attracted and less intimidating to buy. Fyi the support isn't a USA but instead Chinese...so 5 years as they stated? will see. And what about the adds for every scanner? One last thing, 100's of different adds with crazy descriptions using words as, (same as xx version or this a 2022 version, is the same version they been selling since it came out probably before 2020 so that is misleading. Amazon does not regulate this and is a shame.
