Love Cho
Frank cho is one of my favorites. His ballpoint technique is unique and just as inspiring as the rest of his work.

A BEAUTIFUL BOOK, GREAT FOR ARTISTS WHO ARE FANS & FANS THAT ARE ARTISTS!
This is a fantastic book and a worthwhile purchase! FRANK CHO is a self-taught artist that has attained mastery through diligence and passion, sharing his insights in this book of the specialized nature of drawing with ballpoint pen. The book is full of lush images shown in various stages of development with notes on Frank's process. (It isn't exactly a how-to manual and I think the only thing that would have made this perfect is an accompanying DVD with some time-elapse clips of him working through a picture but oh well, maybe next time!) Buy this book for any aspiring artist or fan of images of beautiful women, there is plenty of inspiration, art, and useful tips to digest and appreciate. The book is a brand new publication, it arrived on time and in mint condition!

Beautiful book!
This book was much larger in size than I expected. Has some nice commentary throughout, and Cho's work is beautiful!! Even though I don't know if I'll use it much as an art guide, his work is wonderful to view- especially the progression from sketch to final product. I got it for a nice pre-order price, so I thought it was well worth the $. If you already like Cho's style, I don't think you can go wrong with this showcase of some of his pen work.

Great but damaged in shipping
Great book, but there's a large gash due to being damaged in shipping. Please pack your products better.

Outstanding artwork!
Just don't expect much in the way of art instruction or description of his technique as the info given is very generic and is the same repeated for every single image. They could definitely have done more instead of wasting time describing the exact same thing over and over again. But, the art is so outstanding that the book still rates 5 stars.

Must buy if you like Frank Cho
Shows both the rough pencils and the final inks for many of these pieces. This really shows off his inking skills and the kind of variety you can get from just a ballpoint pen.

Amazing Technique
It's a Wonderful source of inspiration. The drawings are amazing and the way he breaks down the process was a nice Glimpse behind the curtain.

Frank-ly it’s not great...
I paid £6.39 for this item and at that price it’s a great little artbook. If it’s that cheap, buy it without fear of regret.I collect little collections like this for my inspiration library and I have hundreds. It’s not epic in scale or content in the vein of art books by Adam Hughes, Alex Ross and certainly not Kim Jung Gi...and I don’t really think it’s trying to be like that.If it was over £20, instead of sub £10... I’d be looking at it far more critically. That said...in terms of content, even though their are plenty of WIP images, they haven’t been captured at those critical moments in a drawing which serve to educate the young, aspiring student.None of Cho’s pre-final snaps will offer the inexperienced artist anything of real value above his peers’ sketchbooks... and to the experienced portrait-er, well... you won’t learn anything new and are more likely to be critical of his reliance on line weight over careful observation and use oflight. What’s frustrating is that there are lovely sections to be found within each image. I just couldn’t find a level of consistency across the entirety of any singular work. It’s not a bad book. Cho is a great comicker... but I’d be lying if I said I was blown away by what is on offer here.If the price exceeds, £15 (as of 2021)... look at his other comic offerings and steer away from this item. It’s not terrible... just... nice.

Ballpoint Beauties.
When I ordered this I was expecting a collection of work – more of a portfolio volume in keeping with previous books on Frank Cho; this one though, is more of a “how to” book demonstrating Cho`s method.By far the majority of the pages are taken up with examples laid out in 4 panel-format (mostly one panel to a full page) showing the development of each drawing from pencil rough to finished piece. These demo pieces are interspersed with sketches, finished drawings and some full-colour artwork and there are even a couple of gatefolds. Most of the drawings are rendered in black with red ballpoint and some erased highlights.I'm not a fan of ballpoint pen myself – in my experience the ink has the lifespan of a fruit fly in normal daylight and I don't like the monotonous regularity of line - but I`m always interested to see what others can do with it.I don`t doubt that there will be many aspiring artists interested in this volume – Amazon should get a “Look inside” option operational asap. Not quite what I expected, but a good book nevertheless.

Frank Cho girl action
His art with a simple ballpoint is stunning, and so are the girls too, He goes into detail on how he uses the medium so that is a big bonus too. A great book.

Another from Frank Cho
Even the author admits herein that the text is a little repetitive! But another good example of Frank's work, and this in a different medium.
