A great book, a bit pricey perhaps, it's literally crammed full of fabulous vintage imagery, posters, adverts and such like. As a graphic designer, it's a great source of inspiration, as as lover of all things odd and esoteric it's a great flick and read!

It’s a beautiful thick large book with amazing quality pages, but it’s not what I thought it would be. I was expecting quite detailed explanation of the most popular stage tricks. It looks like collection of old posters instead. They are beautiful and colourful but that’s not what I needed. Unfortunately I will have to return it.

This is the best book ever written to date on performance magic history celebrating the topic through the centuries to the early 1960's. Copiously illustrated with beautifully reproduced photos - many many in color - with accompanying captions - this book is a magical production in itself! The original Taschen 2009 edition was a huge coffee table size book. This 2022 reprint is just as beautiful but in a reduced size approximately 10 inches high by 7 inches (nearly 550 pages) that should fit very well on a standard bookcase. I find this smaller book easier to thumb through than the bigger 2009 edition. It is well-made. The binding so far has stood up. I have seen copies of the 2009 book where due to its size the pages are separating from the spine. This book is a great and wonderful reading copy.

Un très beau livre entièrement en anglais qui aborde chapitre par chapitre, de façon structurée, instructive et passionnante l'histoire de la magie. Illustrations superbes et décrites avec soin. Parfois, les caractères sont trop petits et une petite loupe peut s'avérer utile.

Um dos mais completos sobre o assunto. A Taschen é reconhecida pela qualidade de suas edições, mas esta em especial, é muito bem acabada. As cores vibrantes e o assunto que desperta muita curiosidade. Recomendo.

Compré la edición anterior, con la cual estoy más que satisfecha. Un libro muy completo con un contenido literario interesante y una enorme cantidad de imágenes de carteles antiguos, ilustraciones y fotografías. La edición que compré cuenta con una encuadernación con textura de tela que le da un valor a extra a la edición. Muy recomendable si eres fan del mundo de la magia.
