LH Dandelion Weeder

Some long weeders come with multi claws, long claws and forks. These complicated tools probably kill lots of pants and forearm skin along with the weeds they take out. The True Temper fork is simple, solid, and it ends a lot of weeds without my having to stoop and crawl. Weeding is now pretty fast and easy - I get to walk around upright, poke the ground, twist sometimes, and keep my pants clean. My elderly neighbors love it, too, so it spends time on loan around the neighborhood.

This is a MUST for your average gardener. Weeds are everywhere. Take one out and a thousand come to it’s funeral!!! This is why you need this tool. It works great. Dig it into the ground over the weed , twist and pull. As if you’re twirling spaghetti! It’s that easy. The tool is made very sturdy and strong and feels like it will last for many years to come. That is all what I have to say about this tool. Highly recommend.

Quite the invention. No more bending over to pluck weeds. Good solid yard tool that should be sturdy enough to last a while. The handle is good strong wood, and metal end is quality spike. The little strap-handle on the end also a handy addition.

Great for center stem weeds in soft or hard ground. I have lumbar arthritis issues. No bending required is a nice feature. After cutting center root under the weed, it’s easy to use the fork shaped end to pick up the loose weed and pitch it in the trash can. Some of the other weed extractor types make this all one motion - snaps root and grabs weed on the up stroke. They work well in soft soil. If you have hard clay, the lever action puts intense pressure on the extractor types. I’ve broken/bent several. This Ames weeder is simple and strong. Works well in soft or hard soil.

My back isn't what it used to be, so I bought this so I can weed without bending over, but I have a very large wooden deck and one thing I've found is that this thing is great for popping small twigs and whatever else gets stuck between the boards when it's time to stain. It seems very solidly built and I'm very happy I bought it

This item may work well in soft or sandy soil, but in the rocky soil of South Florida, it was not up to the task. The well-built long wooden handle gives you a lot of leverage, but the metal tip is not able to withstand the force that leverage provides. After about 10 minutes of work, it had bent in several directions, and this was applying only moderate force. Look elsewhere for a tough weeder.

Well made at a good price, but as an average height male, I have to bend over somewhat to use it. My back isn’t what it used to be. Also palming the top to push down isn’t too comfortable. Really needs to be a foot longer. Am thinking of rigging an extension or t-handle for it.
