Shop Around Before You Buy
Sculpey is a nice brand for beginners as well as experienced artist. It's an easy clay to work with. It's not too hard or soft and is relatively easy to condition. It comes in an array of colors which is a plus. However, it can be overpriced here at Amazon sometimes. Craft store pricing for this clay seem to be cheaper, especially for certain colors. You can get 2 for the price of what you pay for one here. I only purchase Sculpey from Amazon when I cannot find a specific color in the stores or when the price here is comparable. Shop around first.

Molding Monsters.
I purchased this clay to make eye sockets for a glass and fabric craft. It worked great, and the clay does not smell terribly after it is baked like some clay. It is a little difficult to mold though: not as pliable as normal clay. I would recommend that if you are working on a project, to make your design out of non-baking modeling clay first. After you have done this and worked out the kinks, create the design in baking clay. I would also recommend laying something down like newspaper before you work on any surface, and keep an oil base lotion and dish soap on hand. This clay sticks to your skin quite a bit, and it will take some sturdy washing to take off. I would also recommend keeping it away from fabric: it does not come out. After baking, the product turns out very well, and shrinkage as a result of baking is minimal.

This stuff is pretty awesome, to be honest
This stuff is pretty awesome, to be honest. I had actually wanted translucent red, but I needed it quickly, and this regular translucent was going to ship sooner. Basically, I wanted an LED behind it to glow, and I needed it to have 3-dimensional form that holds. It helps if you can get it as thin as possible, which I accomplished by smushing it out flat between two pieces of foil (probably better to actually roll it out on a flat surface, but I'm lazy) and then peeling to top foil off and shaping it with the bottom foil still attached. Baked it for a short time (less than 10 minutes, and actually, it did burn slightly, but since I was coloring it, it didn't really matter to me, but also, I really did make it *very* thin) and peeled the bottom foil off *after* it was hardened. Glued and baked it onto my larger piece (again, not too long, since both had already baked, just enough for the sculpey glue to set). Painted it with red acrylic paint, which I worried might make it too opaque (but also, sharpie works too), but it was just fine with just 1 coat of the paint. I'm really impressed. I basically did a hack job with this and didn't use any sculpting tools, but I'm sure if you were careful and used tools, you'd accomplish something even better.

My favorite
I make handmade polymer, clay earrings, and jewelry. After initially trying numerous brands, this has become my favorite. Sculpey premo and Sculpey iii meet every need I have and the colors are beautiful. It has become my go to clay

Suave y fácil de trabajar. Se pueden explorar en YouTube diversas técnicas para hacer joyería con pasta polimérica Sculpey. En la foto sale una de las combinaciones que hice de Estel color con otros tonos.
