ST501 Double Sided Adhesive Tape, 36 yds Length x 2" Width Paper

If you are looking for the best double-sided tape to temporarily attach a template to a workpiece for routing, etc., look no further. This tape is perfect due to its thinness, strong adhesion strength and it truly being residue free from the adhesive after removing the tape. Prior to using Spectape, I made the mistake of trying another brand of tape for routing acrylic sheet with an acrylic template. Although it held the two together, it left a sticky, gooey mess behind after taking the two pieces apart. Even googone couldn’t clean up the mess! It just smeared it around and made it worse! The only thing that did the job was a miracle mixture of one part vegetable oil and two parts baking soda from a recipe I thankfully found online. That did the trick but boy what a lot of extra work that was. Anyway, you won’t have any of those types of problems with Spectape! It really is the best I’ve found!

Have used it, now for the first time and it works well. I will order again.

Exactly what I expected.

In my woodworking efforts I've tried several variations of double-backed tape (carpet, general purpose, purported to be specific for woodworking). However, this is the first double-backed tape that indeed holds pieces together solidly (such as template-to-wood for routing), and later, the pieces can be separated - and the residual tape adhesive removed - without leaving a residual tape glue stickiness to interfere with stains and other finishes. I have recommended to several people in my woodworking group. Now they tell me that they have found some other tapes that work as well, but as long as this tape serves me well, I will not go looking any further for anything different.
