Vector V940 Radar / Laser Detector with Bonus Second Car Kit (SmartCord & Sticky Car Mount)

Works like it was intended. Ka range is ok, not like my V1 but for around $100, can't complain. It gives me about a 2 to 5 second advance warning, so if you're going 5 to 10 mph over, you have time to react. If you are going faster, get the V1. V1 will give me upwards of 30 to 45 second advance warning.

Ok for the price

So far this detector is working okay . Time will tell if it works as advertised in description . I still get false alerts where I know it's just a stores security system but not as long of a beeping sound as my old cobra detector . As for distance for a cop patrolling it is great ! Yesterday got an X alert for quite a while and finally saw him coming towards me . I would estimate at least a mile it picked up his radar signal . That was in city . No alerts yet on the highway but I have only used this for less than 2 weeks now .The extra cord and windshield mount is great . Especially the round cup that once you put it on the glass it's not coming off until you release the suction . So far am happy with this detector .

The product works, but the range is just terrible. I've passed by cops who have their radars on and who don't. Those that do are detected far after I see them, only at 100 yards or less! Not good enough. I may have received a defective product, not sure, so I will buy a different brand. I returned this one.

Works great. Has done a great job in radar detecting. I'm on the road a lot and it is very consistent on non-law enforcement detection (e.g. Door sensors). Detector announces band (e.g. says "K band"), and when it announces K band, it sounds like "cave man." Made me laugh.

This is the second of this product that I have ordered. I returned the first due to it over-alerting almost non-stop(even laser alerts) on a totally isolated road.The replacement has been no better. It successfully detects every store security system in town, even in City mode. In terms of detecting real police cars/patrolmen, it usually only alerts when they are within 75-100 yards and I've had a visual on them for 300-400 yards before that.

Been using a 940 for about 10 years now. I'm not a heavy foot driver at any means, but I know this unit has saved me on a few occasions. It's not about speeding. You just have to know when they are around. It's that simple. I live in an area that is loaded with law enforcement, State, County, and local, and they all love to fund raise. A simple 10 mph over will cost well over $200. One save and it pays for itself..

This was part of a value package for less than $120 and I could not be more pleased. The detector works very well and has numerous methods to mount and power the device. Great product, value, and delivery experience.
