No Complaints (Well, Maybe a Couple...)
How many times have you filled your hummingbird feeder that dangles only to have it empty out on the ground on a windy day? Or those that have a feeding tube that drips constantly? They're all going in the garage sale because this feeder is the bomb. We didn't use the suction cup, we put a screw into one of the posts of the patio cover, which is very near the flower bed where the hummers come, and hung the feeder using the hole that holds the suction cup. My thinking was that if the wind blew it any at all, I could tie a string or a long twist-tie around the bottom of the clear part and the post to secure it. But so far I haven't had to do that. I prefer that the hummers get their nectar from the flowers because it's better for them, but it's nice to have supplemental feeders in case they're not finding enough. Mounted this way, the feeder doesn't sway in the breeze and the nectar stays in the feeder. It only holds a cup, and I find that's too much, so I only make half a cup of nectar at a time. 2 TBSP sugar to 1/2 cup warm water (this works out to a ratio of one part sugar to four parts water), stir till the water's clear, change it every day. So far I haven't found any ants in it, but if I do, I'll put a Tanglefoot barrier on the lower part of the post. This is an update, I always buy a couple of these to keep in reserve, in case one gets damaged in the midst of hummingbird season, and one of my reserve feeders leaked. From now on, I'll test the red reservoir on the bottom to make sure the seam around the bottom has been adequately glued, as soon as it arrives in the mail. It had been so long since I bought the one that leaked that I didn't think I could return it. Hubs stopped the leak with clear caulking material. But seriously, if you're buying these ahead to use as replacements, do check for leaks. Usually what happens that requires the ordering of another is that the plastic prongs on the red base break. They fit into the clear part so if even one breaks, that renders the whole thing unusable. I'd be a happy camper if these prongs weren't so delicate. I do agree that the plastic prongs that snap into the grooves to hold the clear part to the red part do look a little delicate, so I am being careful to squeeze them gently together when I lock and unlock the parts from one another. So far so good. There are only two feeding holes, this being virtually "half a feeder", so I am ordering more. Last fall I had fifteen hummers at my feeders and they fight for feeding rights. I don't see a two-hole feeder being a disadvantage since one hummer will chase all the others away from a four-hole feeder anyway and it's actually better to have several small feeders in different locations than it is to have just a couple of bigger ones. It's also easy to clean. Priced at $11.65 at this writing, and free shipping, you can pay a lot more for a hummingbird feeder that sways in the wind or leaks in some other way. I wouldn't suction-cup it to a window because I think it might be a bit heavy. Today I'm ordering a "jewel box" style feeder that's only $7.50, I will review after it's received, I will use that one on a window. Oh, and remember, plastic fades and cracks with long exposure to sun, you'll be putting feeders in the shade, anyhow, won't you? But take them in when the season's over and they'll last a long time.

Great window feeder with strong suction and close-up views
I’ve been using the Perky-Pet Plastic Window Mount Hummingbird Feeder for two seasons now, and I like it enough that I’ve added a second one. One of my favorite things about this feeder is being able to watch hummingbirds right up at the window—it gives such a close-up view you don’t get with traditional feeders. I wasn’t sure at first if they would use a feeder this close to the house, but they had no problem finding it. The size is just right—not too big or too small—and it makes it easy to keep the nectar fresh since I can clean and refill it regularly. The feeder is also easy to take apart, clean, and refill. The suction cups have held up very well, and I haven’t had any issues with them coming loose. As shown in my photos, they stay securely attached to the window. I also haven’t had any issues with it attracting bees or ants, which has been a big plus. It can leak a little when flipping it over after filling, but it’s easy to avoid by doing that step outside, and it hasn’t been a big issue for me. Overall, this has worked really well for us and has been a great way to enjoy watching hummingbirds up close. I would definitely recommend it.

Easy to install, good size, birds love it
Really happy with this little feeder. I needed a window mount feeder because the raccoons kept draining my hanging feeder. It is not too large, easy to clean and fill/refill. Relatively inexpensive. The hummingbirds found it immediately and are enjoying it and so am I as I can see it from any seat in my family room. Should have opted for a window mount feeder earlier.

Almost 5 stars
We love this feeder. Here's why in a nutshell: The couch is in front of the window that this is mounted on, and so the hummingbirds feed about three feet from our eyes! It's amazing being so close. They are so cute. We have other feeders, but this is our very favorite. We have owned this about 18 months. PROS: 1) It does not leak at all. 2) It is easy to fill without spilling anything. No mess. 3) It is easy to clean. I just flush it out with hot tap water between fillings. 4) The suction cup holds firmly to the window. It has never fallen off. 5) The birds feed on this thing many times a day and seem to love it as much as we do! 6) The birds are so close, that cat and dog love to sit on the couch or by the window and watch the birds too! CONS: 1) One of the perches broke off soon after I bought it. It was due to my rough handling. I glued it back on and handle it more gently now. After doing that, it has been fine all last year and so far this year too. 2) The clip holding the clear part to the red base broke off right away, but it does not matter. The two main parts hold together with a nice snug pressure fit, and the clip is actually not needed at all. All in all I would have given it 5 stars except for the plastic clip and perch breaking. The clip is not needed and the perch was easily glued back on. If I would have been more careful, the perch would not have broken in the first place. Again, we love this little feeder! I added a customer image of what we see from our couch. Edit 1/15/2011: After 3 1/2 years this is still working great for us. We have had between three and five hummingbirds that come back every year to this feeder. We take it up at the end of the season, and put it out again in the spring. All the good things I mentioned in the original review are still true, and I have absolutely no negatives to add. We are extremely pleased with this feeder. This is one of three different hummingbird feeders we have tried. We just love it!

The birds love it.
I really like this. I have used it for a couple months, refill it once a week and it has never showed signs of algae build up. The birds love the little perches, as you can see in the image. The suction cup works great on the window and never moves. Wasps do fly around it sometimes, but they never are able to get at the nectar, so the buzz off.

Great
I will never buy a middle one again. They rest after a year or two. This was affordable and has not fallen off yet after 3 months.

Don’t waste your $’s!!
We purchased 1 set and was excited to put them on my mom’s big window, so she could see the hummingbirds up close. When they first arrived I was very skeptical and wondered how they wouldn’t leak. They LEAKED!! We figured it was a fluke so we turned around and purchased a second set. They LEAKED! Too late to return them to Amazon. Don’t waste your money.

small and functional
Apparently there is no humming bird in Australia. I'm just trying my luck to see if it attracts other similar small birds. This is not too expensive as an experiment. Two weeks in, no bird yet.

Birds arrived within minutes!
Love this feeder. My daughter watches the hummingbirds from her bedroom on our second storey. Worth every penny!

A great window feeder!
I was a bit skeptical as its glass and would be heavy filled. It has 3 feeding station and it didn't take long for it to be found! The hummingbirds were fighting over it. So easy to put on the window and lays flat. Love it! Will buy again for other windows!
