Game changer
Love our whole house fan. We got a slightly more powerful one that what was recommended for our home size. The 5500 is what we got for our 1650 square foot home. Setup and install was relatively straight forward and on low mode you can hardly hear it and in high speed it’s about the same loudness as the AC running. We use it with the kitchen window open in the corner of the house and the breeze fully circulates through the house for rapid cooling. We went almost 3 weeks without having to use our AC but as the heat wave starts now I’m so glad wr have this to start saving on our cooling costs. The only issue I ran into was the remote was faulty and not working properly when trying to activate it. I called the company and the owner of Centric Air called me and sent the info to the other company who makes their remote. The owner of that company also called me to assess the issue and immediately sent me the replacement remote and controller. I did have to climb back into the attic and rewire the controller to the fan as the remote is preprogrammed and paired with the controller. It works perfectly now and all our friends want one now.

Quiet, easy to install and moves a lot of air
We bought this fan to cool our 1100 square foot ranch (1100 main floor and then 1100 basement as well). We live in a low humidity environment with hot days and cool nights (Denver). Our home does not have central air conditioning, and we got tired of using a combination of box fans (that love to fall out of windows and blow allergens around) and an old window AC unit (that has to be installed and removed every year). I chose this fan because it is rated to 2500 square feet and came with a more functional remote than some of the other whole house fans I researched. I wanted the remote so I didn't have to drop a wall switch during install. The fan came in tidy packaging with adequate instructions that were easy to follow. All of the components seemed to be of good construction and I expect them to be durable. The fan itself has a 10 year warranty. It took me roughly 3 hours to install by myself. Depending on the outside temperature, the fan takes very little time to cool the entire house. With an outside temperature less than 10 degrees less than the inside temperature, I have dropped the inside temperature by roughly 5 degrees in an hour while operating the fan high. I'm sure it cools even faster the greater the difference between the interior and exterior temperatures. We installed it at the end of a hallway outside our bedrooms. You can stand at the other end of the hallway and feel the air rushing past you when the fan is on. The damper box does a good job of sealing off the space between the house and the attic when the fan is off (I cannot feel any airflow at all around the opening when the fan is off). When operating on high, the WHF makes less noise than a box fan on a medium setting. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone with a similar application to my own.

Excellent product but instructions could be enhanced
It works as it described. We are happy to install it and there's big difference on our 2nd floor once the fan turned on. It is somewhat loud at high speed but pretty quiet at low speed. I wish we could have installed it sooner. However, there are minor things to improve. The instructions came in the package as well as the video on their website are not clear on how ducting is connected to the damper box and fan. It is as simple as drilling the bolts in. However, with concern about damaging the damper box and the fan, I looked up available instructions but they are not very helpful. In addition, instructions say no obstruction within 4 feet of the fan. It's not clear what obstruction indicates. I was concerned if wood beams would be obstruction but it turns out not. I got answers from the company staff for the questions I had, which is pretty helpful. However, I wish they be provided more specifically. It definitely helps your installation typically about an attic environment which is a hot and narrow with clear instructions, let alone you have to crawl up and down from your living area to the attic.

Happy customer.
Great product, easy to install if you are handy. Great power to pull in that outside air. Noise level is medium. The 2 speed wireless remote is wonderful. I would recommend this product.

Outstanding Quality.
The Quiet Cool QA Deluxe 5500 whole house fan is an outstanding fan made of quality and sturdy parts. It was very simple to install even for a novice like me. The fan is extremely quiet and provides amazing airflow and cools our home very quickly and efficiently. The company followed up to ensure the unit arrived in a timely manner and that there was no damage to the unit during transit. I am so impressed with the level of workmanship, quality and customer support, that I recommended the unit to several friends and family members. One of my friends bought the same unit and has thanked me several times for the recommendation.

Worth the money
Easy install even though the housing came bent and had to hammer it out to get the fan to free up. Came well packaged and I know I didn't drop it. Very quiet in my upstairs attack. Remote and temp control works perfectly. I have just under 3k square feet on 3 floors and on high pulls air through all windows (9) pretty steady. Shuts of when reaches temp in the room with the remote. Brings fresh spring and fall air in. Definitely one of my favorite purchases.

House fan, easy install, noisy dampers, cheap auto controller.
We liked the install. Did not like the very light weight dampers made of foam. Low speed is quiet, High speed moves lots of air but is like a window fan on high speed and less noiser than the old style ceiling fans. Motor is mounted away from opening suspended from the joists. On windy days with our windows open on our two story home, the light weight dampers can be heard lifting from the up draft because they are light wt. Foam. Dampers are noisy when the unit shuts off. They do not close quietly.... It sounds just like foam dampers when the unit shuts off after time setting is reached. (Can you tell the cheap dampers annoy me). There are much better made dampers in the industry, shame they went cheap. The auto controller is OK, but is like it was made cheaply. Not a cut and dry controller. Pain to scroll through the menus.. Wanted a control that worked off off temperature, Flukes out now and then. My Son made a 3-D holder for the controller so it mounts next to our thermostat in our home. Ours only worked on time only ! It does display room temp. Would be nice to have a control that shut off when the room temperature Reached the desired temperature Set point.....🌡 We paid the extra money for the remote, This made for a quick install. No wiring down the wall and we can turn it on from the first floor. Hope this helps others in their decision.

Super nice assembly
Everything about this purchase was excellent. Delivery was prompt and well packaged. The instructions were clear. The assembly was easy aside from wrestling a 16 inch diameter snake onto the flange. The interior grate looks nice and was easy to install. The insulated butterfly grate is well equipped and the fan moves a ton of air. I have 1600 sf up and 11 down. This will absolutely make the entire house frigid overnight on the low setting. High speed moves too much air for my house but that was expected. While it is not silent the sound from the system is relatively quiet compared to an older style direct mount fab I have used in the past. There were noise dampers installed which was pretty sweet. Power wise it had a standard wall plug pre-installed. All of the functions operate on the wireless thermostat. It is a real thermostat as well. As temps fall it does shut off and may kick back ok if required. This was a great addition to my house and I wish I'd have done it 6 years ago when I first had the idea.
