We've been making extreme watersports watches since day one. Nowadays, most people wear our watches because they're built to last and we love what we do. Our passion is evident from the first moment you pop one on your wrist. Whether you need something for deep sea exploration or just want a watch that can take a licking and keep on ticking, the M50 is our toughest dive watch... bar none. Machined from a solid block of stainless steel with a double-locking crown system, virtually scratchproof sapphire crystal, and water resistant to an outstanding 500M/1650FT. That's just how we roll. The M50 is also availible in an all-black ion-plated steel case for those of you who like that stealth look but also want optimum legibility in the dark. The dial markers are applied with a thick coating of Superluminova giving you full visibility at night, inspired by the night vision goggles in your favourite Tom Clancy novel. Bracelet Choices for Every Taste Steel The M50 is available with a solid steel bracelet option made especially to fit right up to the case with solid block endpieces and links. The clasp assembly uses a double-locking safety latch and features an added expansion piece, allowing you to extend the bracelet on demand to fit over a wetsuit or uniform. Even on steel, you can still dive in with your trusted M50. Rubber The Rubber Nato band is a great choice for style and ease of use. Just slide it on and if it gets dirty, slide it off and give it a wash. We highly recommend our 22mm Hyper Natural Rubber with reinforced steel keepers. Popularized by divers and tactical units alike, our Hyper Natural Rubber band is tough enough to withstand the elements and is made from 100% natural rubber. Whether you plan to wear your watch in the ocean, the lake, or the pool. Give your watch and your wrist the best!

Excellent Watch.
I received this watch 2-3 hours ago, so this review consists of my initial impressions. (See updates below.)The M50 is hefty and handsome. The bead blasted finish on the case is matched by the hardware on the quality NATO band. The bezel feels light weight, but looks good and is 120-click unidirectional. There is maybe a half-click of play, and the bezel moves a bit too easily. It serves it’s purpose, but does not have a high end feel. I like the cyclops over the date, useful and effective. At 44 millimeters, the case seems as though it would be large, but it wears smaller and looks good on my 7 1/4” wrist. At 4.5 ounces on my scale, the watch is heavy considering it has a NATO band, but I have a 40mm Seiko dress watch with solid link bracelet that weighs 4.6 ounces so it’s not really that heavy overall. By comparison my Citizen Promaster weighs 3.1 ounces with a NATO band, but it is a lighter-duty (200m vs 500m) watch. The numerals are a faint green, not as green as in the photo. The lume is excellent, better than my Promaster, which has good lume. (Photos are of the Momentum M50 next to the Citizen Promaster.). Accuracy 3 hours later is still to the second (as you might expect for a quartz watch- or almost any watch), and the rated 8-10 year battery is very nice for a dive watch. Although I don’t generally dive or snorkel deeper than 10 meters or so, it’s nice to know that it is over-built for my purposes. Superb watch for the $135 sale price that I paid, and even at the $280 list price I think it’s better than most watches in that price range. Keep your eyes peeled on Amazon, the price seems to drop on these watches as the stock diminishes, especially for the last one in stock. (Like this one.). Price also varies a lot based on face color and band. Update: After 5 days, the time is less than a second off. 👍 Update: About 7 months later, this watch hasn't got a scratch and keeps very good time. it has been completely problem-free. I can't imagine a better watch for the money. Looks great, too.

Fantastic watch, incredible value - would buy again! [Update: Still great!]
I was looking for a military-style, quartz diver watch with at least 300M water resistance...for less than $300. There were other options - including some of the better known brands. But many of the Seikos and Citizens at that price point were 200m models with mineral crystals. So having seen some good reviews of St. Moritz watches, particularly their Momentum brand, I decided to be different and go for this Canadian made watch. As it turns out, while Momentum watches are designed and partially assembled in Vancouver, they use Japanese movements in their watches (in this case, I believe it's the S260 Miyota, one of the most precise quartz movements you can get).I am thrilled with this watch. For the price, it's an amazing value. Consider the features: 500M (1650 feet) water resistance, sapphire crystal, long life (8-10 year battery), built like a tank with 316L stainless steel, above average lume, and a cyclops for the date that actually works. The size is perfect in my opinion at 44mm (excluding the crown). Large enough for readability and looks the part of a military/tactical dive watch -- but not so big that it looks ridiculous or won't fit under a shirt sleeve. It's just a great looking watch.I purchased the model that comes with a black nylon NATO band, which looks great with the bead-blasted stainless strap holder loops that match the watch case. This is definitely the most secure way to wear this (or any) watch for tactical use, but I later got the stainless bracelet that Momentum makes for this watch, for a different look. (It's cheaper to get the model with the stainless bracelet already of course, but I was able to find one at a discount. Still, if you know you will want the stainless bracelet, get the model that already comes with it).The watch has performed flawlessly and I continue to be amazed at the value relative to the price. You can easily spend double for an equivalent feature set if you want a better known name, but I highly recommend this watch! I think Momentum is a great brand that seems to be flying a bit under the radar.UPDATE 12-15-2018: 18 months later, I still love this watch. For context, my small set of watches for regular wear include a Seiko Solar PADI Diver, a mid-90's Omega Seamaster 120, a recent Bulova Sea King, and an early 2000s blue dial Tag Heuer Professional. While the Momentum is by far the least name recognizable of my watches, it's one of the best all around watches I own and goes up against these others in performance. I can't say if the long-term durability will equal some of these others and it might not have the level of precision design that went into my old Omega but so far, so good. The main thing that's impressed me is the value for the price. The Momentum M50 MKII is available for about the same price as my Seiko PADI SNE435P1. Yes, with the Seiko you are getting the Seiko name and what that entails. But head to head, the Momentum gives you a lot more: A 500M depth rating compared to 200M, a sapphire crystal versus mineral, and (if you get the M50 with bracelet), a solid link, bead blasted stainless bracelet versus the flimsy-feeling, hollow bracelet that comes standard on the basic Seiko these days.

M50 Mark II made a great watch superb!!!
I have owned the M50 DSS watch by St. Moritz for the past 5 years. During that time, it has been nothing short of a pleasure to wear. It's solid 316L stainless steel brushed case has taken a beating but has only very small dings to show for it. The sapphire crystal is still perfect and unscratched. The quartz movement is as accurate as ever. I only recently had to change the "10 year" battery--I could not find it locally and had to order one off Amazon. The bezel is very functional and clicks with ease. I have received quite a few compliments and even a co-worker went out and ordered one for himself days after I showed him the watch. All that said, the only thing I found lacking in the watch was the shiny hour markers. It was just too flashy for me and seemed out of place. I also would prefer the side grooves on the bezel all the way around like classic dive watches. When I saw that St Moritz came out with an M50 Mark II with classic military-style dial and numbered hours, I was drooling. After a few days of consideration, I had to order one and couldn't be happier. This is a very handsome watch! I love looking at and admiring the beautiful new dial. It is still the same great watch, but with an improved makeover. Gotta love that. I have it on a ballistic nylon NATO strap that has 316L buckle/rings--the perfect marriage.

High quality VISIBLE watch.
I found this Momentum watch and read quite a few reviews which seemed all good. So far this watch has lived up to the reviews. I like the white face, date magnifier, and the decent lume at night. I can actually see this watch clearly. Sapphire crystal, water proof, easily read watch. All for about 200 bucks! Nice!

Absolute bargain for quality build watch suitable for hard work or play!
Ordered late afternoon on 23rd December via Prime, arrived 1130am next day (24th December). This watch is the best designed for my needs I have ever owned (at 68y I can say I have had a few) and sold at the best price (by far) available or found on line. It is one of the few with actual visible NUMBERS around the dial, good luminosity, red tipped sweep second hand and a "cyclops" (some say "wart") on face which makes the date very easy to read. The bezel is one way movement only which is a true dive watch safety feature and the face is sapphire crystal which is apparently extremely scratch resistant. Rubber, good quality strap with steel keepers and having 500 meters resistant classification (with solid feeling screw capped crown) with one piece solid steel case again apparently makes this watch extremely hard wearing. The cardboard box came with two warranty inserts, one for two years and one for 6 years. I e-mailed the makers in Canada asking which applied and they came back by return confirming that the M50 is warranted for 6 Years (Amazon site says 2 years) as the battery (lithium CR2012) should last for at least that long making it unnecessary to open the watch before that time. Japanese quartz movement so NO need to keep it in the sun for a few hours each day as I found with "eco-watches". Only niggle is that I bought it as "only one left" from Amazon site and it is still saying "only one in stock" 3 days later!

Quality control wasnt very consistent but it's a good watch.
It's a great watch. It is my second on as my first was stolen. See my first before on the model that comes on a metal bracelet. This one was the same except that the lume hasn't been applied quite right. It gets weaker as you look from noon on, as though the applicator was running out of lume paint as it went across the dial. This one was actually also a replacement for one that Amazon send me with a defectie minute hand that bounced as the second hand ticked and also had a hair under the dial. The quality control doesn't seem to be what it used to be with my very first one, which was perfect. Momentum offered to replace the dial when I wrote to them about it but it doesn't seem worth the effort. I got it and a good price and it still does the job.

A solid workhorse.
Just so you don't get scammed, I bought this watch for under $300 on amazon, which Momentum states is an authorized retailer of Momentum watches. I have noticed that marketplace sellers are trying to sell this watch for over $600 for no reason. The price tag on the watch said $399.This watch has everything I need for work in the military. I had a Luminox Evo 3050 before this and had nothing but problems with that watch. I wanted a watch with superior water resistance, a tough case, a rotating bezel that I can use with gloves, a superior luminous paind and a finish that was matte or black. The finish on this watch is brushed so that it is matte. These surfaces do not reflect light like a polished finish would. The lume paint last a very very long time. I just took this watch on an exercise all week where I was going to be operating day at night. At no point was I not able to tell the time and I never had to expose it to extra light on purpose to achieve this. It was raining the whole week and my watch was often covered by the sleeve of my coat but it was still glowing when I went to sleep just before the sun rose. I was really worried that parting with my Luminox, which uses tritium tubes so that the watch is readable in the dark without having to expose it to light, was going to be trouble for me at night. This watch was just as visible in the dark as that watch and I didn't have to try to expose it to extra light. Also, the numbers AND the little rectangular pieces on the dial glow, but the little rectangles are way bright and last far longer than the numbers. The hands glow all night, as does the end of the second hand and the pip on the bezel. The bezel works well while wearing gloves, and doesn't have the sort of play that I expected for this price. I've ran it through the dirt/sand and was able to easily rinse all the crud out from under the bezel so that it turns like new by just running it under a tap and turning it.It is very water resistant. My Luminox failed me twice (once after being sealed and certified to be good to 200m) and both times were swimming and snorkeling, not even SCUBA diving. The Luminox didn't have a screw down crown, or a screw in case back. This watch is water resistant to 500 meters and has a screw down crown and a screwed in case back. If you do take it diving or snorkeling, it has a dive extension on the bracelet too.The crystal is sapphire and Momentum was get generous with the amount that they put on this watch. It's obviously good and thick and didn't scratch while I abused it last week. It has a magnified date window, which I originally didn't like but now I do.The watch is big. It isn't so think that it looks silly, and it isn't so wide that it looks silly, but it is big. It doesn't wear huge like other watches of the same dimensions but if you want a lightweight, thin profile watch this isn't it. The crown at the 4 o clock position stops it from digging into the back of your hand while working and the watch is never annoying while I'm at work. The movemenr is a the same Japanese quarts movement that is in many citizen watches and keeps excellent time. Momentum, is a Canadian watch company and this was was designed in Canada and the parts are manufactured in different parts of the world to keep the cost down. They have a great reputation for repairs and returns and have the moments made to their own specifications. The movement in this watch last 8 to 10 years on one battery, for instance. They have lots of great watches.I trust this watch.
