Large ALICE Field Pack with Frame and Full Outfit LC-1 Green

I used this pack while in Afghanistan and it served me very well. I carried over 100 lbs. of gear (radio, batteries, ammo, poncho, MREs, medical equip, and many other tools) on more than 30 occasions. This pack is the most rugged, and durable backpack that is out there. It's been around since the Vietnam days, so you know it must be good. There is a smaller version of this pack, but this one has more external pouches and a wider main pack compartment for storing more items. You can fit a good weeks amount of food, water and supplies in this pack...granted you know how to survive off the land for a while. The metal frame offers the best support for your back. Most backpacks only offer soft material for back support. The ALICE pack's metal frame is money. The straps on this pack are fully adjustable for short/tall and obviously normal people too. Cinch it tight for better support and a healthier back in the long run. It also offers a waist strap for distributing the weight to different parts of your body. It's very well made. The 3 external bottom pouches are meant to carry early Vietnam-present day military canteens. They can, however, fit a lot more than that if you know how to pack correctly. Just a little advice, if you carry something HEAVY, place that item high against your back. Your upper back can handle a heavier load than your lower back. And you'll be able to move around a lot quicker. Also, the inner compartmental pouch is made for this very reason. It's designed to carry the early PRC-77 VHF, (aka: "prick-77"). In todays wars, it currently carries the PRC-117 for those long distance recon missions in the farm lands. I know it's just a backpack, but I just want to let you guys know from a fellow Marine Sniper Team Member (I'm not a Sniper), that this is the greatest pack ever made. And it's perfect for any outdoor occasion or survival situation. Stay alive and Semper Fi.

Great pack and great price, could hardly tell it was used, just what I was looking for. Everything was as described. Very happy with my purchase. The straps were very comfortable, fit snug for a women's body, not just for men and it wasn't too heavy when it was filled with my stuff probably because it distributes the weight with the added support from the belt strap. I went camping and was able to pack everything I could possibly need for like four days worth of clothes, food, first aid, knives, bathroom supplies, cooking supplies, flashlights,(OMG, I was to get all the necessary survival stuff plus all my luxury items in), with room to spare! This was my first tent camping experience so I know now I probably over packed maybe just a little, neon fishnet stockings could have probably stayed home along with other items and clothes but just knowing how much this pack can hold and still able to hike to a camping spot with it's weight not being overwhelming was a great plus. My boyfriend's pack was very similar but he paid a bit higher since his was new. Very good pack better than buying a camping brand backpack, it's just more practical and price friendly from what I've seen while searching. Too bad its just in green but I didn't mind because of how useful this pack is. I love it and would recommend this pack. It's water resistance and has the holes in the bottom to drain out in case water gets in but you can water proof anything you don't want wet, plastic trash bags works well for clothes, I had some in case it looked like it would rain, but luckily no rain on this trip. I know I will get a lot of use out of this pack.

If you're in the search for a tough bag that will hold all your gear. This is the one !! It's perfect for any Survival / Camping / Bug out loading that you might need to do. The sheer size of this bag is great because it allows you to load many different lengths and styles of gear. Having a numerous amount of pockets that strap up, cinch closed and button down. Several of the side pockets also are stitched in a way where you can slide tools and lengthy gear, such as axes, poles, long shafted knives such as machetes and rope. This allows you to save more space within the containment area of the bag for more efficient space. There are also some very nicely stitched mole style loops on some areas of the bag that can be used for addition leashed gear and or slip pocketed gear, such as external/addition pouches. Also gives additional areas to secure your lashings that you might need to have to keep additional gear strapped down. This bag is very versatile. Also the frame that comes with the pack is quite durable, yet still light in weight so it's not too much additional weight added for the pack itself. Minus all the gear in your pack of course. I will most definitely be purchasing more of these in the future for friends and family to get them started on their own survival packs. Thanks for reading my review !! :)

This is one big bag. For someone my size 6'2" and 240, the frame is just a bit small. The bag itself is nice however the underside of the top flap looked like it had been thru hell and back. It was torn and cracked but the rest looks brand new. I had to replace the smaller shoulder straps and belt with MOLLE's. Shoulder straps cut into my arms and chest so bad my arms got numb. About two weeks later I found a site were I bought 2 LARGE ALICE PACKS, W/frame for $50 shipping included, both bags have the larger more comfortable Molle shoulder straps, are BRAND NEW and spotless. Go with a BAG with the bigger MOLLE straps if you can, Far more comfortable. If your looking for a BIG Bug out bag, it does hold alot of stuff... but alot equals heavy. If the bag would have come with the bigger MOLLE shoulder straps, it would be a great bag but after adding MOLLE straps and belt it ups the total price to $90. The 2 packs w/better shoulder straps for $50 shipped was a much better deal!!
