Hey, my brain is working better!
I have both ADHD and anxiety. Yikes! I've known for a long time that B vitamins have a positive impact on anxiety, but it just never really worked that well for me personally. I generally manage my anxiety with meditation, yoga, breathing techniques, and the occasional Xanax. But then I read an article about natural treatments for anxiety - I wish I could find it now - and it included mention of Methylcobalamin and Folinic Acid as options to improve brain function and help with anxiety and ADHD. Hm. Worth a try. So I ordered both on Amazon (this is the Methylcobalamin I bought: Jarrow Formulas Methylcobalamin (Methyl B12), Supports Brain Cells and Nerve Tissue, 1000 mcg, 100 Lozenges ) First of all, they were surprisingly affordable supplements. Yay! Second, they arrived quickly. Double yay! It's been a couple of weeks since I ordered, and you know what I just realized? I'm not taking Xanax during the day anymore. I'm not having to do many of my breathing exercises lately. The anxiety is just...better. Way, way better. I put my husband on it at the same time, and lately he's been saying, "I'm really handling this a lot better than normally." Maybe you're thinking this might be a psychosomatic response. But here's the thing: my hubby has no idea about the supplements I feed him in the morning. LOL He just takes them. So he has literally no idea whatsoever that he's been taking a supplement that's supposed to help his brain work better. So it's good stuff and it works. On to the supplement itself: It's a small round pill and it goes down very easily. No problems. I think this stuff is working. I'm reluctant to say that with respect to supplements, normally, but we haven't changed anything else, so I'm feeling confident in recommending it. It'll be a part of our routine from now on.

Folinic acid is the best form!
Folinic acid is one of the best forms of folate because it’s already biologically active and doesn’t rely on the MTHFR pathway to be used by the body. Unlike synthetic folic acid, it doesn’t need multiple conversion steps and is much less likely to build up unmetabolized folic acid in the bloodstream. Compared to methylfolate, folinic acid is gentler and more stable, making it a better choice for people who are sensitive to overstimulation, anxiety, or side effects from methylated forms. It supports methylation, red blood cell production, and neurological health in a balanced, well-tolerated way.

Effextive. Less stimulating than methyl folate but just right.
Great and effective, but take only in the morning with a meal! If you're still overstimulated, take a half tablet - that's the optimal dose for me. If I take this in the evening or night, it over-activates my brain (boosts norepinephrine?) and prevents me from winding down and sleeping at my usual time. I cannot tolerate methyl-folate because it's overstimulating, and folic acid doesn’t do anything.

Good product
Works well. Easy to swallow. The pills are small. There is no flavor. Nice high amount of folinic.

This Folinic Acid is no Feax FoSho. God I'm annoying
So I don't have a full blown MTHFR mutation but I have a variant that makes me sensitive to folic acid, so I go for Folinic Acid because it has better bioavailability, and this is a great product. No sensitivity to it, no indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea (no peptobismol needed) and good value. As Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator would say: I'LL BE BACK.

Good quality
Bought to see if it was comparable to 5 mtfh. Everyone's body is different and needs different forms of supplements. I felt like the other supplement was better for my personal body but love that these are more bio avaliable and better then synthetic folic acid.

Great product for our neurodivergent household
This has been a game changer for our neurodiverse household. My son and I have ADHD, and my youngest son (4 year old) has Level 3 Autism / Nonverbal. I started taking these first and my sons did soon after. This was recommended to me by someone who was unable to get prescribed Leucovorin for their child. Within 2 weeks, I noticed new verbalizations with my 4 year old. He was more alert and focused. His mood was great with minimal meltdowns. He was engaging way more with family members and smiling at/locking eyes with them. He was interested in new toys and his attention span with toys, books, and activities increased. Only down side, this did give him more energy, and as a result he did drop his afternoon nap and went to bed later. But the benefits far out weighed that negative. For my oldest son ( a teenager) this really seemed to mellow some of his mood swings. He even noticed and commented that he was feeling more emotionally “chill.” I agree, because I felt like my anxiety has decreased with this supplement and some of the things that used to keep me up at night, I’m more able to shut that off mentally. Overall, we all seem to be functioning better in our own ways. This wasn’t a magic pill that suddenly took my kid from nonverbal to verbal, but multiple family members have noticed many positive, hopeful changes.

Got My Morning Energy Back!!!
In "Dirty Genes" by Dr. Ben Lynch, I found that it's estimated that more than half of the world population has a mutation in their DNA called "MTHFR" which causes a lack of efficiency in the body's processing of folate. When I took a CMA (Cellular Micronutrient Assay) test, it revealed that I was super deficient in folate. So I started taking this supplement daily and gradually noticed that my energy levels in the mornings had returned -- I felt like a teenager again! Dr. Lynch recommends his "Pulse Method" of starting with smaller doses, whereas Dr. Dan Purser (The 85% Solution) recommends starting with larger doses and then taking a few days off once you start to feel kind of not so good. Some will prefer one method of supplementation over the other. All I know is that by supplementing my deficiency in folate, I have new energy and pop up like toast out of bed!!!

I’m sure they get the job done just fine but the seal would not come off just using my fingers even though I am blessed with strong and grippy natural nails. It also came with an absurd amount of cotton wool inside so the struggle is far from over once you get the seal off. The cotton wool was so tightly packed that I had to use the business end of a sharp pair of scissors to hook it out and remove it. This is definitely a first for me. So if you’re buying it for grandma or grandpa then maybe keep this in mind.
