Buika unveils herself on the cover and bears all on her third album,Niña de Fuego. Buika does away with the costumes that usuallydecorate album covers, stripping away all but her feelings. When she moved to Madrid and recorded her first album, she showedthe never-ending possibility of her skills as a singer. With her secondalbum,Mi Niña Lola, produced by Javier Limón, she got thecredibility, the recognition, the awards, the performances, and theexciting reviews that left people breathless. Her career cannot be summarized in a sentence but when she opens hermouth you realize there is no singer like her.Buika now arrives with her third album, Niña de Fuego (Girlof Fire) again teaming up with producer Javier Limón. On this album,Buika returns to the Spanish copla, performs for the first time severalranchera songs, and also some new songs composed by herself and JavierLimón. The album is full of songs about love and longing affection.Buika sings of her personal experience in the lyrics that she and JavierLimón wrote and composed. Review: Magnificent! - I was introduced to Buika at a concert at the Mondavi Center for the Arts in the fall of 2010 and fell in love with her music immediately. She was described as a daughter of political refugees from the African nation of Equatorial Guinea and grew up in a gypsy neighborhood on the Spanish Island of Mallorca. When she stepped up to the microphone I was blown away by her intense, powerful, luminous and smoky vocals. It was obvious that she fully absorbed the culture of her new home and related it in her music. The next day I promptly bought two of her CDs: Nina de Fuego and Mi Nina Lola. I love both of them and plan to buy her other CDs. I'm not a professional music critc. All I can say is that if you love flamenco, jazz, soul and blues, you will love this CD. All of the songs are sung in Spanish. I do not speak Spanish but I can tell you that Buika skillfully conveys the feelings and emotions of the songs so well that I almost feel like I know what she is singing about. I feel it in my core. The musicians are very talented as well and blend perfectly with her vocals. Buika will definitely take you on a wonderful musical journey. Review: THE BEST! - This is a great album. It was recorded impeccably. Concha sings great, and the band is great. It combines jazz, flamenco, salsa and pop brilliantly. She has gone more "pop" now, button my opinion this album is still her best effort to date.

One of Buika's best albums
I've never had a CD entirely of songs that I just love, and I probably never will. I'm satisfied if even one or two of the songs are fabulous, according to my peculiar tastes. So it is with this album, which includes several songs I could do without, but also several very nice ones, including "No Habra Nadie en el Mundo" which alone is worth the price of the CD! Outright infectious!

Buika
Someone told me about this singer, Buika from Spain, and I gave this CD a try. I am thrilled and her voice is absolutely different than what I had expected, soulful, sensual Spanish singing. Great for evening listening, as it will transport you back to warm Spanish evenings. Must try!

Nina Estasizes Love's Drama
Nina is a very unusual artist. Her voice is Nina Simone meets Roberta Flack. But that is where the comparison ends. She sings in Spanish but like Milton Nascimento's portugese, the intuitive message and sensibility is understood without the baggage of spoken English. She stories love in a framework of transcendent grace and knowing, a unique artist this Nina. For the neophyte strangled by the steady disgrace of love's fall told by a range of neo-soul, rap, hip-hop, and R&B artist of the day that struggle mightily with getting the simple story telling of love and its glory right, we are refreshed by Nina's mystery and esteem of the refrain. The best way to experience this cache of song is with openess. My recommendation: get this, her third recording and you will find an embrace of music seldom heard on radio any more. Society has paid a price for our drift. Thankfully an artist comes along with a internal compass more enduring and accurate for love's shoreline then the GPS of maintstream, popular culture. With, love, Nina.

Birdsong
A revelation! Great songs, great singer, great production. All hail Concha Buika, who sings like a bird... a bird that has just downed a tumbler of whiskey and smoked a pack of cigarettes after being jilted by another bird.

Great Voice
SHe is amazing. Her voice is so amazing which is kind of melancholic with a lot of sensuality and freshness! The music is fabulous and presence of guitar sound (classical and Flamenco) as a major instrument is always a big plus which converges so nicely with her voice.

Fabulous!
This is one of the best CD's I have. Nina is outstanding, not in her mastery of her singing in her Fados, but also has Flamenco influence and all very, very powerful! I am so glad I bought this! I love every song and the recording is excellent!
