Fragile Steven Wilson Remix

I bought the original YES Fragile LP as a teen, - and then several other tape formats as technologies evolved over the years.When the multichannel DVD-Audio and SACD formats arrived - and the proper (Oppo and other) players became available to play them with worthy reproduction- I was elated!But to my surprise - the multi-channel mix I first bought on disc left me very disappointed. It was my first negative experience with classic masterpieces being actually degraded - by changing the emphasis and staging in a mix.It is rare. But it happened. So for years, I had no way to totally enjoy this exceptional classic masterpiece from YES. And I missed it.So recently I decided to try to purchase a “worthy” remastering of the works - and I saw that a “Steve Wilson” remaster was available - here on Amazon. His reputation being flawless for such work convinced me to buy it. I am SO GLAD I did.Admittedly - It is only 2 channel (stereo) and redbook 16 bit/44 KHz like other CDs - but it IS GREAT! It rivals the vinyl I had as a teenager - and is superb to listen to.I use a DAC (Qudelix 5k) and the BASN MTPro IEMs and my iPhone for my private listening - and all I can say is - WOW! Fragile never sounded better!If you are on the fence about trusting the mastering or audio quality - GO FOR IT. You will be sayisfied 100%.

Steve Wilson is the man!! This cd sounds so clear and crisp! I heard some things that I didn’t hear with the original mastering. I highly recommend anything remastered by Steve Wilson!!

Fragile by Yes has been a favorite album since 1972. Hopefully, Steven Wilson will get his hands on the Six Wives of Henry the VIII. There are many classic CDs requiring remix and remastering. Of the discs I have purchased redone by Steven Wilson have been excellent. Not all remasters and remixes are completed with care or quality in mind, rather just repackaged material to make a buck.This remix by Steven Wilson of Fragile by Yes is worth the purchase price. Enjoy!

I actually like the old mix better, but this is worth getting if you are a fragile fan. With a quality audio system, you can hear subtle differences.

Great retooling of an ultimate classic album !!?

While I love Steve's remix of Tales From Topographic Oceans, I was less than thrilled with the Fragile remix. Mostly this is due to the notice decrease in low EQ applied to Squires bass. The bass just doesn't have any bottom in the mix and I found it overall too bright. Shame, as the rest of the remix is quite good.

Steve brings a lot to the party in this very good remix.There are pieces,vocals I'vr not heard before despite wearing out original Vinyl copies,since release.Several original mastered CD's have 'seemingly' some detail missing or muted.This is generally the pattern of which 75% is an improvement on original for Details.There is some 'muddying' in parts of other tracks,however.Yes for YES Fans.Recommended.Karl O'Neill.

中学生の頃、少ない小遣いを貯めてLP盤を買いしつこく聴いていた。他にも何作か手に入れた。中高生時代はYES、GENESIS他プログレッシブロック漬け。あれから50年近く。会社の友人がリミックス盤を買ったと。「リミックス？」、DJがアレンジしたものがと思い込んでたが本作を興味本位で買ってみた。最初、カーオーディオ（クルマではほぼ聴かない）にかけて「同じやん」と直ぐにストップ⏸️帰宅して聴くと「オリジナルとは別モノやな」と。左右の音の微妙な振分、ベース音のイコライザー調整？音の重ねかた、現代風にリメイクされていた。オリジナルはマスタリング盤を持っているがリミックス盤の方が格段に広がりとシャープさがある。気に入った。追加で3作品をポチり。届くのが楽しみ。還暦、とうに過ぎてはまりこんでいく。

He tenido varias ediciones de este disco y nunca había apreciado con tanta claridad los instrumentos. La mezcla de Steven Wilson rinde homenaje a la banda y convierte la escucha en toda una nueva experiencia. Se encuentran detalles que en otras mezclas se empalman entre sí. Altamente recomendable.
