Great for scorching summer nights in Texas
So, this is the time of year where Texas moves between the sun and Mercury, so it’s pretty common to wake up feeling sticky and humid—it’s always humid here. Or you wake up with a sore throat from blasting cold air over night. Regardless, I still need a blanket year round so that ghosts don’t touch my butt while I’m sleeping; blankets are a magic force field as we all learn in childhood. Anyway. This is an excellent blanket. Cute color, lightweight, soft to the touch, and keeps me cool all night. I sleep MUCH better under this blanket than my old one. And I love that it holds up well in the washer and dryer even when I forget to use the included laundry bag. There is one thing though, and it’s not worth subtracting a star over. We have a queen bed and bought the queen blanket originally (still holding up well, and the light blue was also super cute). The blanket doesn’t come to the edges of the mattress, so there wasn’t much for me after my husband wraps himself like a burrito in his sleep. We ordered the king blanket when we decided to get a second, and this thing is massive on the mattress and hangs over the sides quite a bit more than we were expecting. It’s still an awesome blanket, y’all; I would just suggest measuring your mattress so you won’t be surprised by the overhang or lack thereof.

Recommend for night sweats!
It is so soft. With a little weight to it that helps you feel comfy cozy, without keeping body heat in, so my night sweats didnt bother me. I sleep much better. Beautiful color purple and held it color well after a run through the washer. Dried in dryer, in the provided bag, no heat, and it came out beautifully. Would highly recommend to others that have night sweats!

So far so good. Also, not quite Queen sized.
This blanket is soft and thin, but seems to be warm enough while still allowing the breathability that it promises. Other reviews that mentioned 90x90 is not quite as big as typical queen size are accurate. It barely covers the top of our queen mattress, but this blanket is still working well for me so far. I purchased this and a different style and brand at the same time specifically because I have started waking up with night sweats as the latest symptom of perimenopause. I don't have full-on hot flashes during the day yet, but I have definitely had multiple nights much more often where I am waking up a sweaty mess. I decided I needed to see if it was possible to find blankets that could help with this. I am the kind of person who is usually the one in the room who is cold, and although I prefer colder sleeping temperatures I am usually one to typically pile on the blankets. This has had to change. I can say I used this blanket as my only cover on top of the sheet for a week straight, and I did not wake up sweaty even once, nor did I get cold. I can't tell if that was a fluke of me not having a random hot flash in the middle of the night after only a week, but it sure seems like it was happening at least once a week prior. I will report back if things change, but so far I am impressed with the blanket's breathability yet also being able to keep me warm enough. Where I live is not extremely cold, but without the heater on I have woken up to a bedroom that is in the mid to high 50s and still been comfortable with only a sheet and this blanket. Sometimes I put a fleece blanket on top of feet only, but only this blanket up from there. That would not normally have been the case for me prior to perimenopause. I am hoping this means if overnight hot flashes are what's keeping me warm, that this blanket is doing its job allowing just enough breathability for me to be comfortable and not sweaty. I'll be leaving a similar review for my other blanket purchase too, because I seem to have lucked into two winners.

Bamboo keeps me cozy and cool! PERFECT gift for anyone!
I have temperature regulation issues, so I'm either freezing cold or sweating all night. I was staying at a friend's place, and all she had were two of these lightweight bamboo blankets. I got 9 hours straight without waking up sweaty at all! I got home and ordered one, which my fiance promptly stole so he could wrap himself like a burrito at night. So I ordered another, which he designated his "office blanket". I have a total of 5 of these blankets for my home, all in different colors, all of which are exactly as vibrant as pictured. I sent purple ones to my mom, dad, sister, and even a childhood friend; they're pretty much my go-to gift. These are perfect for anyone who's hard to shop for. They're different from the average blanket. Lightweight and stretchy, large enough to wrap around my 5'10" frame and then some. My 6'4" dad had no complaints! They breathe enough to keep you cool in the summer, and if you do sweat at night, let it air dry for a couple minutes and you can barely feel any moisture. In the colder months, they keep you insulated. The directions say not to use a dryer; I tumble dry them (no heat) with no issues, and they remain unbelievably soft and cozy, but use your best judgement. You can fold the blanket in half for a bit of extra weight, and they're still large enough to cover you. In the spare bedroom, we find that guests prefer to use one of the bamboo blankets over their top sheet vs a bulky comforter! These blankets fold up small. In the pictures, I've folded it to 9"×18"×2" and used a soup can for scale. Notice how much less space it takes up on the blanket shelf! I'm absolutely in love with these blankets.

NOT the same blanket as the one sold last year!
Update: July 2024 My original review was 5/5 stars, but that's now been revised to 3/5, and that's being generous. ' I find it incredibly frustrating when I discover a product and like it so much that I go out of my way to repurchase it, only to find that the manufacturer has completely altered it while maintaining the pretense that it’s the same 5-star product. The reviews, which praise the original version, are misleading and do not reflect the changes made to the product. Unfortunately, such is the case with this blanket. After a lifetime of experiencing cold, I finally encountered the challenges of overheating. To address this issue and enhance my sleep comfort, I sought out cooling blankets. After purchasing three different ones, I found a favorite. Regrettably, during our move, when most of our belongings were placed in storage while our new home is being built, I did not keep the blanket readily accessible. However, my fondness for it led me to purchase a spare from the same brand, in the same color and size as the previous year. I kept the new blanket in its packaging until recently, when I finally needed it and laundered it, only to discover it bears no resemblance to the one from last year, apart from the color. Unfortunately, I realized this discrepancy just one day past the return window, leaving me unable to return it. I have learned my lesson and will never again delay opening a new purchase. The blanket I had last year was made from a dense bamboo material that provided a substantial weight while allowing excellent air circulation. It became softer with each wash and was crafted from a woven fabric. In contrast, the current blanket feels consistently the same after every wash and appears to be made from a more synthetic material rather than a true woven fabric. Although I lack expertise in textiles, I can confidently assert that these two materials are distinct. The new blanket closely resembles polyester, and I would be surprised if it were not. It is very lightweight, which might be advantageous for some, but I prefer a more substantial feeling while sleeping. This material impedes airflow and does not contribute to cooling me during the night. Once I locate the original blanket, I will gladly photograph both to illustrate the visible differences between the two. In the meantime, I cannot recommend this new blanket but wholeheartedly endorse the older one. It is also disheartening that the price remains unchanged, despite the new blanket being made from significantly cheaper material compared to last year's version.

Sleep Comfortable and Cool
Bought this for my husband for Father's Day...He LOVES it...Keeps him cool while covering him...He sleeps with his service dog next to him so he is ALWAYS hot...Not anymore...It is light weight and not bulky improving his quality of sleep, he is no longer hot/cold which makes it a more restful sleep for the both of us...Makes it easier to throw it over him when he is asleep in his recliner...The softness of it is another big plus...The quality of the material is top notch.

SMELLS LIKE CHEMICALS. NOT Cooling - NOT soft
I suffer from hot flashes & night sweats BAD… Once again, I found myself captivated by a flurry of glowing reviews and an enticing advertisement for a highly-rated cooling blanket, only to be met with a letdown that I felt compelled to share. This review is intended to provide potential buyers with a candid insight into my experience so that they know exactly what they’re getting into. To start, let’s talk about the size SMELL of this blanket, smells like chemicals. Gave me an instant migraine. Size of this blanket—it’s surprisingly small. Despite choosing the larger size, it utterly fails to deliver the coverage needed for a king-sized bed, let alone accommodate two people lounging comfortably (unless, perhaps, they’re both small children). Imagine trying to cozy up on a cold night, only to find you're wrestling with a blanket that barely reaches the edges of your bed. It's beyond frustrating—it's impractical. Then there’s the material, which caught me completely off guard. The fabric feels reminiscent of a heavy t-shirt, but with a top layer akin to parchment paper. The texture? It’s a baffling fusion of scaly and sticky—far from the comfortable experience I had hoped for. I wouldn’t dream of using it without a soft sheet as a barrier; the discomfort is just too much to bear. On the first night, my anticipation was through the roof as I hoped for the cooling relief it promised. Regrettably, disappointment set in quickly—I felt no discernible change in temperature. As I flipped the blanket over in search of some hidden magic, it became painfully clear: it performs no better than my trusty $20 fleece throw, which is infinitely softer, cozier, and truly satisfying on a chilly evening. But after two long hours, reality hit me like a freight train. I woke up feeling uncomfortably VERY HOT. Despite our thermostat being set to a cozy 70 F, I was thrown awake, drenched in sweat, baffled that a product claiming to cool could do the exact opposite. Mind you, I'm sleeping with a fan on too. Spending $50 on a cooling blanket that utterly fails to fulfill its primary promise is disheartening, to say the least. I’ve decided to stow it away in the guest room or perhaps use it as an extra layer in the car for those unexpected chilly moments. This experience serves as a sobering reminder from my many Amazon shopping adventures, reinforcing that some products ride high on overinflated price tags rather than genuine quality or usefulness. That said, I can identify a couple of minor perks: the blanket is incredibly lightweight and compact, which is a plus. However, paying $50 for a lackluster spare blanket suited only for kids, pets, or occasional guests feels extravagant when there are cozy fleece alternatives available for a fraction of the price. While transitioning from a heavy comforter to this blanket might offer some cooling relief, I firmly believe a more affordable option without the scaly coating would do just as well. I look forward to returning to my beloved old blanket and have become much more discerning in my search for products that genuinely deliver on their promises, rather than simply boasting about them.

no regrets
i just got it today after desperately needing smth to keep my cool at night. i just moved in w someone who keeps the house much warmer than i would. ive been having to sleep w the ceiling fan and and extra fan right next to the bed And 1 or 2 ice packs wrapped in a sheet to keep me cool enough to fall and stay asleep. i don't mind the ice packs, theyre quite nice and u can move them around to where u feel the most warm but i needed a blanket that wouldn't be too hot when i did want smth to cover up w. per the instructions u are supposed to wash and dry (a specific way) before use, which i haven't done yet. but ive been sitting w it for a while and it is definitely cooling. not as much as i thought, but maybe thats bcus i haven't washed it yet. i really wanted to use it tonight but it needs to air dry, and im impatient. i can already tell, even if its not as cooling, itll be nice to sleep w. just from sitting w it, u can tell its v breathable and u can feel air come through it. also, itsays after u wash it it will get softer so, pre wash, its not rough or uncomfortable, but if a wash will make it softer then ill do it. i just noticed that it is cool to the touch slighty, which i think is a good sign of its quality. ill write updates once ive washed, dried, and used it for a few nights. but as for now, i don't regret buying it. Update: i hand washed it in the tub and all was good. i let it air dry for abt 5 hours before i got impatient and start doing research to see if i could put it in the dryer although the instructions say not to. between the other reviews here and stuff i saw online i gave in and put it in the dryer on air fluff, with no heat. first for 20 mins which didn't do a ton. then i put it in for 40 mins no heat. i used low heat on a gentle cycle for abt 20 mins checking it often so it didn't get too warm. after one last 20 min cycle w no heat it was v slightly damp so i let it finish air drying while i slept. so total i air dried for abt 10-11 hours, in the dryer on no heat for 60-80mins, and low heat dried for 20. i assume it would take probably a full 24 hours to air dry if thats all u did but from my experience its fine in the dryer as long as its on no heat, or if any, low heat and not for long periods of time. im gonna sleep w it tonight and see if its good enough to replace the ice packs ive been using haha
