Vandoren SR2725 Tenor Sax JAVA Reeds Strength 2.5; Box of 5

I love the Java cut reeds! They are well cut, and together with my mouthpiece they make my horns sing! Individually wrapped for freshness, and consistency, these Vandoren Java reeds are the best for Tenor Saxophone! I've been using these for years, and their quality is hands down the best for Tenor Sax!

I've been using the Java for 20 years. I get about 2-3 good usable reeds per box. The remainder I just use for practicing. I have to add that I'm really particular about reeds; I especially want to hear the overtones and a certain level of brightness. If a reed doesn't fill that bill, I won't use it on a gig. I've tried other reeds but haven't found any that are more consistent than theses.

When I now started learning about different sounds and how different setups affect your sound I started experimenting with different reeds to fine tune my sound. I had just bought a custom mouthpiece and was happy, however V16's were too dull and ZZ's were too bright. This landed me right in the middle of both and I love it. hey offer a certain depth and roundness the ZZ's don't while not being as dark as a classical sound.

My tenor sax go-to reed now. I've used a wide variety of cane and synthetic reeds for the past few years, but recently discovered the Vandoren JAVA works best for me. The key words in that last sentence were "works best for me." The reason there is such a mind-boggling variety reeds made from various materials in various ways and packaged in different manners (although packaging has nothing to do with playability), suggests the individual taste that attends the selection of a reed.

I've been playing tenor for 50 yrs and have never been so pleased with a reed! I could kick myself for not having tried these ages ago despite hearing raves from a few people.

Bought these for my son for his high school music class. They are a marked improvement over the reeds that the school offers, and have helped with his playing.

Un peu plus faibles que les anches n°3, elles sont plus faciles à jouer, particulièrement avec un bec Otto Link. Cependant, elles ne sont pas forcément conseillées pour les débutants, pour qui il est généralement plus simple de commencer avec des anches plus faibles, n°2 notamment. Toutes les anches de la boîte sont calibrées de manière uniforme. Toutes sont jouables, aucun n'est endommagée, ni trop dure à jouer. Vandoren reste fidèle à sa notoriété et sa réputation de qualité.
