This ship is an amazing addition to any X-Wing Miniatures or Star Wars Model collection!
Finally we get to own and play the first ship we ever saw in the original Star Wars saga! First off, I can't figure out how they can mass produce ships like these! The model is beautifully detailed and fully playable in the X-Wing Miniatures Game. It's also an awesome display piece for my gaming room. It's not perfectly to scale with the other X-Wing ships, this is true, but it wouldn't be very playable if it had been, so they compromised to give us this amazing addition to the game! The ship comes with lots of bits and pieces, too. Some of the cards can even be used in the standard (IE not epic) games. The ship takes damage either to it's fore or aft sections, and is effectively still in the game until both sections have been destroyed. It has a primary weapon that also shoots further than anything else in the game! All told, this purchase has been a "no-brainer" for me personally. This ship is great eye candy, fun to play in the Epic Battles, and makes for a very nice "terrain piece" in standard games to mix things up a little. If you are looking to add some variety and spice to your games of X-Wing, you need this ship. If you collect Star Wars models, you need this ship! If you just want an amazing display piece for your den/man cave/ game room, etc - you need this ship! Trust me, yes it costs a bit more than the other X-Wing Miniatures ships/models do, but you get a lot for your money and Amazon has this available at an unbeatable price!

Surprisingly powerful boat, plus key X-Wings
The Rebel Transport is not to be underestimated, and the X-Wings that come with it are no pushovers, either. Plus, it includes new Astromech droids which change the game for the Y-Wings and new torpedoes that work well in starfighter combat. Let's start with the Rebel Transport. After playing a few games with it (including one 150-point game of 2 X-Wings & a 50-point Rebel Transport build vs. 150 points of TIE Bombers, Fighters, and the Lambda Shuttle, in which the 2 X-Wings and Rebel Transport prevailed), I'm tempted to call it overpowered. No guns? It doesn't need guns to wreck TIEs, and its support abilities, when augmented, can provide devastating disabilities on enemies fleets. It's surprisingly versatile, so there are different ways to build the transport to fight against small and large ships--against both dozens of small TIEs and powerful Firesprays. I'm hoping to play with it more in the future, as it's an impressive and tough ship. As for the new X-Wing pilots, getting Wes into your squadron is critical. Wes' ability is to be reckoned with; a Wes + Veteran & Wedge + Opportunist can wreck the board, and I expect we'll be seeing that duo a lot. The fletchette torpedoes pave the way for the future of stress tokens, as the Rebel Transport has the means to both inflict stress tokens and deal damage to ships who have stress, and with Wave 4 coming soon, I'm sure we'll see new methods of dealing with and exploiting stress. Finally, the astromechs. These astromechs bring some interesting diversity, but I'm not sure that we'll see all of them in tournaments. They create new ways of handling (and sharing) stress, new mechanics for regenerating shields, and allow Y-Wings and X-Wings like Biggs and Garvin to finally get some Elite Pilot upgrades (Biggs + Draw their Fire perhaps? And giving Garvin some Veteran Instincts would allow better use of that focus token he gives). This new expansion is a game-changer. Get your own, soon! I've had so much fun with this one that I may get another.

Great Ship, Just Not in the Current Meta
The B-Wing’s my favorite ship so it was an auto-buy when I started to play the X-Wing miniatures game. The mini itself is fantastic. The ship’s in its proper orientation, vertical. The paint job is surprisingly good for a $13 mini right to including a wash to make the details of the ship really pop. The ship comes with a stand and if there’s anything I’d criticize FFG for it's that the stands for their ships aren’t the best. The fit isn’t always tight and they loosen over time. That said that’s a universal criticism for all the X-Wing TMG minis not just the B-Wing. The ship itself comes with a good selection of upgrades and all the counters you’ll need to play the ship. The cardboard for the counters is heavy duty and durable. In six months of playing with the ship none of them are starting to wear in any significant way. Unfortunately the meta has left the B-Wing behind. It’s still a potent ship but it's not top tier anymore. While it can take a beating the ship’s lack of speed and maneuverability makes it difficult to get into good firing locations and in a meta heavy with Imp Aces that’s a death sentence. Overall a solid ship I’m glad I own even if it’s no longer super competitive.

Excellent value!
Expanding my existing Squadrons and also doing repaints on 1st Edition ships to field, using my 2nd Edition cards, dials and base cards. These TIE’s are currently super cheap @ $8-$9, as well as other 1st Edition ships. With the conversion kits going for $20-$26, depending on factions, it makes economic sense to convert some ships, as the final costs are cheaper than buying 2nd Edition ones alone. Just be careful, as some 2nd Edition ships have new cards, that aren’t available in the 2nd Edition Conversion Kits, I believe the C-Roc is one of them. Additionally, there are 2nd Edition ship sculpts that you may want instead, like the X-Wings closing S-foils, the B-Wings rotating cockpit, or the Fangs movable wings.... etc. aren’t available on 1st Edition ships. In certain instances, a conversion kit may not even be necessary, as you’re only able to field a certain point value each game. Models come with multiple ship base cards, so using 2nd Edition ship dials and items, on repainted 1st Edition ships of the same type is more than doable. It adds variety to the games and I think it’s fun. Having the entire Rebel Gold, Red, Blue, Phoenix Squadrons or an entire Imperial Squadron of Black, Blue, Yellow or Red TIE Fighters or Interceptors. Maybe each Imperial Fleet and Rebel Cell had its own colored fighter squadrons and there were many. I think the possibilities are endless.

A Fine Addition To Your Collection
If you play X-Wing miniatures, you need this ship. If you don't play X-Wing but love the Empire, you still need this ship. The model is of excellent quality, though the glue to the plastic peg beneath cockpit can come off. That is only an issue if you play X-Wing and that's why I gave this ship 4 stars. If you're an X-Wing player, especially an Imperial player, this is a good expansion to have. A single generic TIE Figther isn't that useful (except for blocking other ships) because it only has 3 hull, no shields, and an attack value of 2. That said TIE Swarms are fun and the pilot "Backstabber" is a lot of fun to use.

Affordable support craft with an interesting kiss/bite.
One of the more interesting ships for the Rebel fleet, and a sneaky devil for SnV from what I've seen, the HWK/Hawk/"Moldy Crow" is most at home as a support ship doing, if you're familiar with the game term, 'buffing' or 'debuffing'. The various Rebel named pilots (Dark Forces fans rejoice!) all having abilities designed to be tossed onto their allies, often as far as Range 3, the SnV pilots tending to favor abilities that leech things from their foes. Tossed on this ship platform that is relatively cheap, can have a crewman aboard, and can mount a turret for 360 degree fire support, the HWK-290 exists in what isn't the most central role to X-Wing but is also not a useless one. I wouldn't recommend buying 2 or 3, but I absolutely would recommend buying at least 1 if you're a Rebel or SnV player. It takes some outside the box thinking to master what it does but, once you've gotten that as habit, it can help your squadrons do things that would otherwise be near or fully impossible. In terms of it's look, I found it one of the better quality paint jobs from it's FFG X Wing wave, if duller by design (it's matching a famous one from a game). Since the pics on here might not be enough to decide on, I've added a few of my own to hopefully let people see (especially what the turret hangs like).

Backbone of any rebel squadron
This ship is probably one of the most important ships for the rebel side in the game, and almost all competitive rebel squadron lists have at least one, in fact the world champion used two X-wings and two B-wings. It does come in the Core Set bu this expansion has some very nice cards that add to the lethality of the X-wing. Mostly the usefulness is the two named pilots Wedge and Garvin, both are good with Wedge being the more useful of the two. The upgrades are decent with the highlights being the Astromechs. Whether it comes from this expansion, the Core Set, or the Rebel Transport the X-wing is a good ship, but all come with the different pilots that make it a great ship and I recommend picking up this expansion especially if you want to fly rebels.

Options galore for your X-Wing Miniatures Collection
This little guy *slaps mini very gently* has sooooo many options. In 2nd Edition X-Wing: You will need conversion kits, but the ship can be run as a very dynamic (and CHEAP) support ship. In 2E it has a turreted weapon and a native (but red) boost action as well as a red Jam action, giving you tons of options for upgrading and kitting it out to be annoying for as cheap as 28 points as a scum ship or 29 points for rebels. it also has an improved dial from 1E, with a red stop, 3 turns and a white 4 forwards and 3 banks, making it much more maneuverable than it used to be. In 1st Edition X-Wing: Can be run straight out of the box as a Rebel ship with some great pilots like Jan Ors (give a friendly ship an extra attack dice by stressing) and Kyle Katarn, who can share focus tokens. Additionally if you have a Most Wanted Expansion, you can also run it with 4 new pilots for the Scum faction that have interesting effects like stealing tokens or denying a ship's high Pilot Skill, making them go last.
