Ordered as have bad knots in Persian's fur after he went missing a couple days. It appeared from the packaging and the item was fully charged it had been out before, so could be possible someone blunted an then returned, who knows. I only tried in on a mans hairy arm and only cut some so didn't both trying on cat. Not particularly noisy but will say sounded about the same as my mans hair clippers. So unfortunately sending back and starting to look again for some stronger ones
