A Clinician's Guide to Treating OCD: The Most Effective CBT Approaches for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (New Harbinger Made Simple)
P**A
New ideas to treat OCD.
The book explains the concept of OCD and goes through the diiferent approaches: exposure, CT, and less familiar ones such as Inference based therapy (IBT), and metacognitive therapy as applied to OCD. These approaches are explained clearly: for example in IBT the patient is in a state of doubt, this is related to a sense of the vulnerable self, and a focus on distant unlikely outcomes rather than common sense perceptions. This leads to faulty reasoning which the the therapists helps the person to address.I trusted the author's judgment, and I learned quite a few new treatment tactics.
