KesonSNR10100 Nylon-Reinforced Steel Blade Tape Measure with Stainless Steel Housing, Zero Point at Tape End + 1-Foot and Ring End (Graduations: ft., 1/10, 1/00), 100-Foot

I sought to buy a steel tape because fiberglass tapes stretch. Because this tape is 3/8" wide I wondered if it was just a 300 foot tape made like other 3/8" wide tapes that are 100 feet long. So I did more research on several long tapes that were over 200 feet and found many that were divided into .01 feet increments, but very few that were divided into feet, inches, and 1/8 inches. I phoned three companies to ask about some particular tapes they sold. I wanted a steel tape that was narrow and thick so the wind would not catch it and it would stretch less than a fiberglass tape when pulled under tension. There were some tapes that were narrower and wider, but none were thicker. When I phoned the company the person I spoke with said the tape cross-section was 3/8" x .023". When I received the tape the first thing I did was to measure the thickness and found the person to be correct. It is an excellent tape in a stainless steel reel.

I bought two of these tape measures. I was excited to find they made one with a steel housing and handle. I have been using their plastic housing tapes for years. More than 20 possibly 30 years.The biggest problem I have with the plastic ones is that the handles break off. So I bought this steel tape measure to see it it would last longer. It didn’t. The handle was fine, but nearly ALL of the fastners holding this together came apart. The tape is manufactured poorly with quality parts. The handles out lasted the tape measures. We had wired them together but as different parts kept falling of, my foreman disposed of them after less than 10 days.I will continue to purchase their other products (just ordered 6 100’ tapes) but i wouldn’t recommend this until the assembly problem is acknowledged and rectified.Good luck

Durable, metal parts that won't break as easy as the less expensive tapes with plastic handles and the 1' from the end of the tape to 0' is nice for "burning a foot" without having to "add" a foot to my measurement.

I have a fiberglass tape too, but those stretch a bit. I wanted something a bit more reliably accurate for a very large deck structure. (44 x 42' ) This was the ticket.

Nice and heavy duty. They should all be made out of metal. Very good for working a farm job like farming

Stainless steel frame work, heavy duty handle, better than most tape.

I thought this would be a more durable option then the plastic handle tapes I'd purchased in the past but it arrived mis- assembled and wouldn't wind up. Disappointed in the product and would recommend.

I received this tape in the mail today. I paid 65 dollars for it. I pulled it out of the box and it was already falling apart. Missing a rivitt on one side, and the other one is about to come out on the other, I can’t even use this tape to do layout on a house tomorrow, which is what I bought it for. I would like to send this tape back and get my money back.
