Rock solid
I use my Macbook Pro to import digital image via XQD reader to an external hard drive and then process via Lightroom and export to a second external hard drive. My laptop only has two usb ports and one of them is taken by a Bluetooth dongle for a mouse. Few things are as frustrating as getting the message that your drive, while you are in the middle of using it, was improperly ejected, due to an unsteady connection through a sloppy USB hubr, requiring me to wait 30 minutes for my Mac to test and reload the drive. I keep this hub clamped to a bookshelve next to my reclining chair and can comforatbly and confidently work with all the peripherals I need connected with no fear of mishap. The hub stays put and the usb connections are tight. Very good fit and finish. My only regret is that it is not externally powered as I suspect that sometimes my laptop is not supplying adequate power to run three drives at once.

Clamping Down on Connectivity: A Desk-Friendly Hub
The ORICO USB 3.0 Hub shines with its innovative clamp design, which is a breath of fresh air in the realm of desktop organization. This design choice is not only a space saver but also a robust alternative to the traditional hub that occupies valuable desk real estate. The hub's build quality is commendable, with a strong aluminum body that promises durability. When it comes to performance, it delivers the expected USB 3.0 speeds efficiently, making data transfer swift and reliable. The additional power supply port is a thoughtful inclusion for devices that may require more juice. However, the product does have room for improvement. Its clamp may struggle to fit some monitors or desks, suggesting a need for a more adaptable design. Different size screw-on clamps, a telescopic clamp, or just a wider clamp with various-sized spacers would be great alternatives. Additionally, various sized screw lengths and the ability to adjust the height of the screw would significantly improve its compatibility and versatility. The hub's blue power LED presents a visual distraction, as it emanates from the USB ports—a clear oversight. Ideally, this lighting should be discreet and functional without impacting the device's aesthetic. A redesign to confine the illumination would enhance the hub's sleek appearance. In terms of connectivity, the hub's reliance on USB Type-A and Micro USB feels a step behind in the era of USB Type-C's dominance. The absence of Type-C ports limits its utility for newer devices. Further, the decision to exclude a power cable in some models may be a significant inconvenience for some users, and the hub's failure to support the latest USB standards could deter those seeking top-tier performance. Taking all these factors into account, this hub is a solid choice for those looking for USB 3.0 speeds and a clutter-free desk, but it may not satisfy those in need of the latest connectivity options or with plans to mount on wider surfaces. That said, I find myself quite satisfied with the ORICO USB 3.0 Hub and have made the decision to retain it as a part of my tech ensemble. Nonetheless, my quest for an ideal hub that addresses the current model's minor flaws while maintaining its strengths shall continue.

solid hub.
New computer did not have as many usb outlets. This works great with a longer and stronger cord. I was able to put it on my work light and run it to the computer with plenty of extra line to spare. Its a solid hub. Very pleased.

Handy USB 3 multiport hub and it is powered
This multiport hub is relatively small and is powered by a USB micro cable (not supplied with hub). The ability to attached the hub to something with a lip or and edge is helpful, if you have the location on which to mount it. Fortunately I have such a location and that gets the hub off my desk which is cluttered sufficiently. I powered the hub with an USB micro cable from an old cellphone. I connected the hub via a USB 3 cable (supplied, but I didn't use it because it was too long and left excess cable) connected to the Neckteck USB C that connects most all of my peripherals to the laptop. Right now I have a 500 GB SSD drive which I use to drop files on which I need to work plugged in all the time and use the other 4 ports as needed for backing up my hard drive or copying data to USB flash drives to send to others. The hub is handy and while easily accessible is out of the way because it is not laying on my desk getting covered by papers, etc. As for my ratings I gave the hub 5 stars because it works for me as for the factors that are rated only sturdiness seems important and while it is made out of aluminum I would not rate it as 5 star sturdy especially if you were going to move it around a great deal. As for Thickness and sheerness I have no real opinion as neither seems to me to be of any significance to the function of the device.

Easy to install with a good length data cable for a reasonable placement range.
The ORICO USB 3.0 hub clamp 4-Port USB splitter with 4.92 FT USB data cable was easy to clamp onto my desk, and with the nearly 5ft data cable I found it easy to mount the hub in a variety of possible places without needing to buy a USB extension cable. Once clamped in place, the USB hub is sturdy and easy to use. Eliminates the annoying issue of having to hold down a standard USB block hub in order to pull out a USB cable, and the minimal desktop footprint of the clamp on hub frees up valuable desktop space for other uses. My only complaint with the product is that I wish they produced a larger version with say up to 10 ports. I bought multiple 4 port hubs, but then I have to use multiple USB ports on my computer to attach the hubs, or I have to daisy chain the hubs together. One larger hub would be nice. Still, the product is great, and hopefully, the company will consider producing larger versions in the future. Highly recommend if you are looking for a simple easy to use space saving USB 3.0 hub.

I honestly wish I had gone one of these sooner. My PC case has USB3 ports but they're Type A and don't provide enough power for things like a mobile harddisk or external cdrom drive, so I'd always be left frustrated wondering if they'd actually work and most of the time I'd fall back to USB 2.0 speeds anyway. It was so annoying, but I really like the case otherwise. This wonderful USB hub solved it. Using the USB-C port from the back of my PC case, the power and connectivity issues are gone. I can quite happily plug two harddisk and a external drive in now without an issue, and there is still a PD port if I did need more power. Best part, I'm now getting full speeds as well. The bracket I've got fits on the tube steel of my desk so it's tucked nicely under and out the way but still easily accessed. Really nice design, a little fiddly to get it to mount flush, but when I did, even just finger tight with the screw it was a solid stable install. A little tweak to tighten it up even more with a screw driver from the back and it's not going anywhere. Plenty of cable on the included USB-C to USB-C/TypeA cable (with adapter). Can't see in the picture, but there is a small blue LED on the right to show it's powered up. Very happy with it, well designed and well worth the price if you're needing something like this.

I was hoping the Type C to A connection will be working by now but I’m very disappointed that it is still NOT working. My Dell laptop has only 2 Type C ports and was hoping this hub can solve my USB needs… The Type A to A connection is working fine. DO NOT buy if your laptop has only USB C port.
