Buy Improving Story Writing at Key Stages 1 and 2 (Improving Literacy: Creative Approaches) by Peat, Alan, Nash, James (ISBN: 9781898255406) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Transforming Story Writing - Alan Peat is well known for his exciting sentences and approaches for teaching punctuation. In this book he brings his typical range of ideas to focussed story writings. The book incorporates a variety of games and activities to stimulate ideas and prepare children for writing. The layout of the book is simple to follow and is worth a flick through before any planning. The activities are incredibly flexible and so can be adapted for a range of genres. I found that planning was much easier after reading through the suggested ideas. There are some examples of what work should look like which is helpful when thinking about success criteria etc. I used this predominantly with upper key stage 2 and the lessons were all most always successful and a hit with my class. Although this is a relatively thin publication, it is worth every penny. Highly recommended! Review: Five Stars - Alan Peat provides many useful ideas and resources. Highly recommended.
