While is a good idea, the material is not that great. Ok, it comes with a plastic self sticking rail to attach to the air conditioner, It doesn't stick very well. now on the window side there is no self stick and to seal it to the window is impossible as the material does not allow any type of tape (even duct tape) to stick to it so there is a draft and open areas. Grated my window is a little bigger than the standard it still should allow for proper attachment.

Perhaps I expected too much. The wash-board surface overemphasizes the thickness of the foam; it's really not all that thick. There is no wind-break on either side, and it's not a closed-cell foam, so it doesn't stop drafts and the insulating properties are not all that great. And there is no rigidity, so it it's really windy outside the product wants to buckle. I can't help but think that if somebody really wanted to create a high-performance insulating panel it wouldn't be all that hard. But I have to hand it to the Thermwell guys: this product is about as close to pure profit as one can get. The packaging probably cost as much to make as the product.

The description for this is a bit misleading. It didn't work as I expected. The panels are thick foam, which is good. They were easy to cut to fit the area they were to be put in. It did have a tape strip but where it was located did me no good. I wasn't able to use the sticky part. I had to wedge the foam into place. The insulating factor works pretty well, so overall, I'm ok with it.

And the price was right. And shipping was fast. So what more can you expect from grey foam? Well, the glue edge is pretty much non-functional - we had to resort to duct tape. and they really darken the room a lot by blocking out all light around the unit. HOWEVER they do insulate well enough when installed properly.

These Foam Air Conditioner Panels are just useless. Do not waste your money.

A bit expensive for foam panels but works. You get a couple pieces of foam with a plastic sleeve on one side. I removed the plastic and cut the foam to fit for my situation. Only product I was able to find to cover the side panels.

They are foam pieces that sort of fit my AC unit. I was looking for something a little bit thicker and provided more insulation. My window is a good 1 foot wider than my AC unit and I was looking to have panels that would cover this area. This product would be best used for smaller windows.

I live in NYC where the winter draft can get cold. This doesn't stop the draft but it definitely helps. I've had to roll a blanket in front of it to add extra protection.
