Outstanding
I can only echo Laura Wilson's review. I was apprehensive about ordering without trying the product first, since quality for many of the shea butters seems to be uneven. Also, the fact that the reviews are all dated around the same time raises questions for me. But now I see why people are commenting on this butter. The shea butter I received from Essential Depot. Inc. at the end of February 2013 arrived intact, with a sealed foil sheet under the lid. The butter has a mild smell that does seem natural. I am very sensitive to odors, and don't find this strong or objectionable. It is a bit grainy at first; both the smell and the grains disappear immediately once the butter is worked into the skin. I live in a dry, cold climate, cook every day and wash my hands frequently. It's become increasingly impossible as I get older to find a moisturizer that keeps my hands smooth. This shea butter beats my former favorite, Aveda's Hand Relief (currently $21 for 4.2 oz.) out of the ball park. I imagine this butter would work into the skin even faster in a warmer climate. The butter is a tiny bit oily at first, but quickly absorbs and keeps skin moisturized even after hand washings--a first in my experience. I do not like oily moisturizers, though I have resorted to using straight olive and almond oils when I was desperate to protect my hands. Organic is important, so I was delighted to find this product. The fact it has no added scent is good for me and the environment. After using this butter for the last week, I find it to be absolutely the best hand/heel moisturizer I've ever tried, and I've tried many. I'm not related/employed in any way by the supplier, or Amazon, but am very happy to have discovered this product. I've already shared it with many friends.

Great
I love this shea butter. It is has a nice, nutty almost smoky smell to it that is very natural. It is grainy and an odd texture for those of us used to super refined commercially produced lotions, but this melts when you rub it between your hands and absorbs beautifully. I have been using it for pretty much everything but my hair (I have superfine hair and am leary of putting anything in it that might weigh it down, but I might get brave one of these days). The difference in my skin is pretty amazing. I have really sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin that over the years has become pretty much impossible. Anything I use causes horrible breakouts. This feels soothing and wonderful to my skin. I also have eczema on my hands that gets worse in the winter and getting them wet or getting salt or anything like that on them can be excruciating. I wash my hands a lot so this was causing horrid itching, cracking, and even bleeding. Now I apply the shea butter a few times a day and my eczema is the best it has been in ages. My almost 2-year-old daughter has eczema as well and I have been using this on her with good results. From reading up on shea butter, this seems like it is an excellent quality and a great price. I'm very pleased with this product and with this seller (I got some glycerine from them as well). I plan on trying their cocoa butter next.

My preferred shea butter
I have tried probably about 10 different brands of shea butter and this is my favorite! It is consistent with no debris. The texture and natural smell is great. Best of all, it works well as a moisturizer on its own, or used as part of DIY moisturizers when mixed with other oils and/or essential oils. I also like the packaging. It comes sealed and secure with no leaking and no mess.

I have been ordering from this company for a few years
I have never had any issues with my shea. This is pure stuff and better than the shea I purchase at the store. I think the problem is people expect it to be like shea in the store that is not pure. I use this for "everything" I use it in my hair, I have the Puertorican kinks and this works better than any straightening gel, I put a pinky amount in my hand and rub my hands together till it Melts and then run it through my dry hair, then use an flat iron or hair dryer and my hair gets super straight. But you can't put "too much" like just barely. where it's just barely on your hands. A little goes a long way. I also use this every night on my face and neck, just rubbing it in until it melts from my body temperature on my face and neck. It's the best moisturizer. I swear by this stuff. I also make a exfoliating scrub with this, and fine salt, if I pour salt into this and rub on my face, I watch dead cells just fall off in clumps. My skin is silky soft and it protects my skin from uv rays too! This is my EVERYTHING in a bottle.

MOISTURIZATION AT LAST!!!
Shea butter is amazing. I cannot express that enough. It is so moisturizing and has gotten me through my winter pregnancy. I have used SO MUCH OF IT! You moisturize and it heals dry itchy skin, it lasts and it just feels amazing. It doesn’t stain my clothes either. Yes it has a scent - a scent of Shea butter. Maybe some don’t like it but I don’t care cause it works and it just smells a bit nutty to me. I use it on my entire body and face. LOVE IT! just tried this new brand because I needed a big jar. So far so good, it’s smooth and nice.

Nice quality and consistency but very smokey smelling
I make own body butter because of sensitive skin and I occasionally put it on my nose and lips in the winter. Works great for me and I don't get break outs 👌 I Really like the consistency of this shea butter and It whips up well. I think my only complaint(4stars) is the smell. Which I know is natural but it is VERY smokey smelling and if you don't mix it with the right oils it can strangely smell almost like cigarettes (Atleast to me) when initially applied onto skin/hair. It mellows out after awhile. Earthy/Woody smelling oils are best. I made a third batch and used anise and chamomile along with some other oils and it smells wonderful. 2nd back was Patchouli and that was good too. I recommend not mixing Coco butter, which I put in my first batch, it smelled...strange... and I hate wasting so I used it anyways.ha! Anyway it's a good value for what you get and if youre into making your own butters or lotions or whatever it's definitely worth the money because alot of the good quality stuff out there is pretty expensive, hence why I went this route and it's not hard to make either.

Exactly my home (West African) Shea butter: The REAL STUFF
I do not write reviews and this is not a cliche. However, I think this review might help someone who is looking for a real shea butter from my home West Africa. We use raw shea butter for arthritic pain back home in Africa aside from using it as a moisturizer. You can rub this at any place on your body where you are feeling joint pain (FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY). I have used Shea butter back home for over 35 years before moving to the U.S. However, it is so disappointing what some sellers give to people in the name of shea butter. Also, sometimes buyers do not want the Shea butter that has its natural scent/aroma because they often say it is "smelly." That "smelly" is the natural aroma of the organic nut from which it is processed and that "smell" is what constitutes its natural powerful healing/moisturizing beneficial properties. So, the more "smelly" my sweet home shea butter is the more I am in love with it. That smell is why it is called shea butter just like peanut nut butter has its own "smell." The "more smelly" shea butter is the better for me and the higher my I trust for it:) So please, shea butter should be SOLD just as exactly as it is naturally so that buyers can use it however they prefer. It is left for the buyer to add any form of toxic chemicals they want to remove the “scent" or "smell" as some people may call it:) or some may bleach it to destroy the beneficial ingredients:( I was so happy when I opened the box of this Shea butter and the first thing I smelled was that thick wave of the smell of the REAL NATURAL SHEA BUTTER THAT I HAVE USED FOR DECADES BACK HOME IN MY "COUNTRY" West AFRICA. Very fresh, the consistency and the color were exactly the way they should be. I immediately rubbed it on my skin and it REMAINED what it should be as REAL SHEA BUTTER, not excessively oily yet highly moisturizing. This is the original raw shea butter and organic, I am sure because I am sure:) It is made from a seed whose plant grew naturally in the agro-forest back home; meanwhile, I started hearing of "organic" in the U.S.:) This is the original color of raw Shea butter as well (ivory). Sometimes we add palm oil a.k.a red oil to it back home but I prefer this natural color-ivory color. The white color "shea butter" is bleached and I do not call such shea butter anymore, based on my heritage and no offense. I love this shea butter, it has no seed, just needs to be melted down with a double boiler. Sometimes sellers out of fear may say that the shelf life is 2 years. But Shear butter rarely goes bad unless there are other external chemical reactions or due to extreme temperature but it had never gone bad in my experience. I use the same one for years but I do keep my shea butter away from sunlight and away home-light. I hide my shea butter mainly in my wardrobe or anywhere that is always dark with normal temperature. I was not paid in any way to leave this review, neither did I have time to write reviews, but I felt the pressure to give honor to whom it is due by bringing to light the goodness of this Shea butter, at least to encourage the seller to continue the excellent work. This might as well be of some help for anyone looking for original shea butter. I do not waste time in sending back some fake items that claim to come from Africa, things like shear butter or African black soap, but this one is the REAL WEST AFRICAN SHEA BUTTER FROM MY VERY HOME 😊 Note: Unfortnately, I did not have option to upload an update of the new video.

♥️ Authentic Shea Butter ♥️
After weeks of researching shea butter and different companies, I finally purchased shea butter from Essential Depot. This QUALITY shea butter is AUTHENTIC!!! It has the nutty roasted (some say burnt) smell that authentic shea butter should have. I personally LOVE the smell because it's comforting and reassuring to know the shea butter is pure and untouched. If the natural scent is bothersome (roasted/burnt) real shea butter is not for you. The reviews that state it smelled burnt is accurate and that is because they have been using FAKE shea butter for years. Which in turn leads them to think this shea butter is rotten, spoiled, etc. In addition to the authenticity of the shea butter Essential Depot clearly shows the expiration date of the shea butter on the box. Shipping it out fast is a bonus but for this shea butter the wait is definitely worth it. I will DEFINITELY order from this company again and again. As long as they continue to sell quality shea butter I am a customer for life. If anyone has an issue with their order, give Essential Depot a chance to fix it because their customer service is also excellent.
