Baldwin OB1318 Heavy Duty Hydraulic Filter Base

Works fine.

My commercial fishing vessel did not have any filter system for my hydraulics, so I installed this unit to insure clean fluids which will help preserve my hydraulic motors for many years to come. I'ts only a common sense fix!

This housing really is heavy duty at first glance. But… it has a plastic bypass which is a little scary for use with engines and transmissions although it clearly says it works for engines, which makes me believe that someone at Baldwin actually tested this product..? I couldn’t find any info of the max temperature it can take before failing and that’s my only concern. Any chance anyone has any info on this?

Using this base for a transmission filter on my 1997 7.3 F350. The bolt size for the mount on the base is 1/4 - 20, couldn't find it listed anywhere.Update: 2 years later and it's still working great!

Doesn't come with 1/8 tread ports as shown in picture.Other than that is work's perfect.

Works great so far I used it for a remote transmission filter for my 96 ram 3500 diesel. Ok update on that after about 4 or 5 months I cant remember the bypass valve got stuck and almost blew my transmission so won't be doing that again. Maybe if it wasn't a little piece of what looks like plastic as the bypass. Maybe for another application it would work fine but not for my transmission
