The cap just needs to be pulled straight off, it is a straight shot, but can be hard to remove. I recommend a pliers. After. Make sure to push the epoxy through both tubes.

Can this epoxy be used to reattached a golf shaft to the club head?

Repeated hammering (golf strokes) may fracture the epoxy. The head may fly off later, so not safe for this problem. I believe this junction is threaded, and either the shaft or the head threads have failed. A golf shop may be able to sell you a replacement for the bad part.

Does it cure by chemical reaction and get hot?

Yes it gets hot more warm then like burning hot tho and yes it's a chemical reaction that's why it comes in Separate tubes hope this helps
