A Cinderella Story

Such a classic. checks off the best qualities for a romcom in my book. lost count on how many times I've seen this already. In love with the pacing, the way they set up the story, the characters, everything. this movie gives me such a boost of nostalgia even if I'm an 05 baby lol.

A great “classic” that I feel is on the “okay” list for my 7 year old. I hated this movie when it first debuted then rewatching it as an adult I could see the benefit of modifying a classic. The film is clear, my child loves it, giggles, and this movie shows the characters in an easy to understand modern view that is still safe. I’m a very picky mom when movies are watched so me voting this one “decent”

This is a great teen movie to watch and isn't your typical Cinderella story. Even though I'm in my 50's I enjoyed it also!

The movie purchase was easy and great. The movie is Soo dumb and treats the viewer like they don't have common sense. Give it a watch, it's ridiculous and discussing it with a friend is fun.

There is no shortage of Cinderella type stories with a variety of names. If you're tired of them, don't bother watching this one. If, like many of us, you never get tired of them, then, I believe you'll like this one. I especially enjoyed the gazebo dance scene---a handsome young man (Chad Michael Murray), a beautiful young woman (Hillary Duff) and a minstrel group playing and singing a beautiful song just for the two of them. A girl would feel very special. Imagine you are a girl who has known nothing in life but hard work and servitude. Your only solace is an anonymous internet soulmate. You agree to meet this soulmate in costume at the school Halloween dance. You meet and discover you are the object of affection of the most popular boy in the whole school---if he only knew who you really were! Of course, with the evil stepmother and stepsisters and the prince's ex-girlfriend all conspiring against her, things do not go smoothly. There are ups and lots of downs and, just when you think all is lost, she gets her prince and they live happily ever after. Yea!! It's a good movie that is safe for the whole family. It gives young people this good advise, 'Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game'.

My all time favorite movie!!!

My daughter‘s favorite movie. Such a great story with good comedy. Definitely suggest for any family movie night.

Sam Montgomery verliert bei einem Erdbeben ihren Vater. Da er kein Testament hinterlassen hat, bekommt Sams Stiefmutter alles: Das Haus, die Autos, das Diner und zu "ihrem Pech" auch Sam. Und so beginnt das Ünglück des Mädchens, sie wird in ein Zimmer auf dem Dachboden verbannt und muss ständig für ihre Stiefmutter und deren zweit Töchter schuften. Da dazu auch die Arbeit immer Diner gehört, wird sie besonders von den beliebten Kids ständig ausgelacht und nur Diner-Girl genannt. Doch Sam gibt nicht auf, denn nur wenn sie arbeitet, bekommt sie von ihrer Stiefmutter das Geld für Princeton, dass College, auf das sie schon immer wollte. Also lässt sie auch die schlimmmsten Hänseleien über sich ergehen, dabei stehen ihr ihr bester Freund Carter und die Crew aus dem Diner zur Seite. Doch seit neusten gibt es da noch jemanden. "Nomad" nennt sich der Junge, den sie im Princeton Chatroom kennen gelernt hat, der Junge der unbedingt Schriftsteller werden will, dessen Vater aber ganz andere Pläne für ihn hat. Es ist so, als würden sie sich ewig kennen und so verabreden sie sich auf dem Halloween-Ball der Schule um sich endlich einmal zu treffen. Mit Hilfe ihrer Freunde gelingt es Sam schließlich auch wunderschön auf dem Ball aufzutauchen, doch dann wird sie bitter enttäuscht: "Nomad" heißt in Wirklichkeit Austin Aimes und ist der beliebteste Junge der ganzen Schule. Cooler Footballspieler und einfühlsammer Schriftsteller in einem? Das kann doch gar nicht sein. Was würde er wohl sagen, wenn er wüsste, dass sich unter ihrer Maske nur Diner-Girl verbirgt? Sam hat zuviel Angst, um das herauszufinden und wendet sich ab, aber Austin gibt nicht auf... Dieser Film ist eine wünderschöne Verfilmung des Aschenputtel-Klassikers und verarbeitet alle modernen Probleme, die Jugendlichen heutzutage das Leben schwer machen, denen es schwerfällt sich dem Status anzupassen. Die Darsteller, allen voran Chad Michael Murray und Hilary Duff, sind wirklich sehr gut und die DVD enthält tolles Bonus-Material. Diesen Film sollte man gesehen haben!
