PopSockets: PopGrip Expanding Stand and Grip with a Swappable Top for Phones & Tablets - Carbonite Weave

Brilliant accessory. I’ve had it for a week and it’s been in use umpteen times a day everyday. REALLY VERSATILE. VERY USEFUL. FINELY ENGINEERED. I love it! I’ve never had any such thing before and now I wouldn’t be without it. I’ve got the ‘Kick-Out’ version and IMHO it’s DEFINITELY WORTH THE EXTRA COST. I had some doubts when I ordered it as I wasn’t sure the additional functionality of the Kick-Out version would prove worthwhile. IT ABSOLUTELY IS. I initially had in mind using the Popsockets grip as a stand on coach journeys with the choir. I was ever so pleased to find that I could use it when video recording the performance. I got some great footage (steady and stable with no discomfort in prolonged shots). Honestly there’s been loads of times when it’s been invaluable. Today in a waiting room myself and my son were watching telly (subtitled). No wrist or hand ache whilst the hand was unobtrusive. I am very impressed with how well thought out and well made this gadget is. It’s small but it packs a lot in! I’ve no idea how they get the hinge to have JUST THE RIGHT RESISTANCE in different positions. So far it’s showing NO SIGN OF GOING SLOPPY. OK, I’ve been using this gadget for about eight months now and I ABSOLUTELY STAND BY WHAT I SAID BEFORE. I use a MagSafe charger and swapping with the Popsockets in NO PROBLEM. Super convenient. Eight months in and and I really do like this thing. Oh, and still no sign of going sloppy. It’s like new!

I've been a fan of PopSockets for a while now - even with fairly large hands, I don't see how anyone can use the largest phones single-handed without something similar. I've previously used the Otterbox cases with integrated PopSockets, but Otterbox seem to have neded that relationship and developed their own solution (which is far worse, but I digress). I wasn't convinced that the PopGrip would be firm enough using "just" MagSafe, but I was really impressed - it's solid as a rock and I have zero fear that it's going to come off in use. It takes some real effort to pry it off - you have to really your nails under it to make it budge. Not something that's going to happen in normal usage! It does stand out a little from the back of the base but not to a degree that bothers me; pockets long enough to hold a Pro Max always have enough width too, and it's rounded so doesn't catch on the way out. I'm definitely going to keep hold of this and transfer it to all my new phones in the future. Means I can buy cheaper cases in a better variety of colours too!

Very pleased. I bought this as my little finger was getting sore from holding my phone upright and this takes a lot of the stress off it. It was really easy to fix to my iPhone, the magnet strength is excellent, takes a lot of stress off my fingers when holding the phone and isn’t too prominent so I can still fit my iPhone 14 Pro plus in the pocket of my bag. Bought the black which looks good. Seems excellent quality. Not removed it since buying a month ago so I’m not sure of the charging with it on yet. Only thing I’d mention for those with this size phone is you still need to balance the phone on your little finger to type sometimes, as the magnet is in the middle of the phone and if I didn’t, my thumb couldn’t quite reach all of the keyboard. Would recommend.

I liked this very much, not least because I could swap it between my phone and kindle, both of which were much improved by the stand. However the magnet is so strong that I struggled to remove it from the kindle (which was attached with the adhesive magnetic strip) and the strip itself bent. It is very stiff and cannot be fixed back in place, and also very sharp, it has cut open my thumb.

Perfect. I can now multitask whilst using my phone! I can use it as a phone stand to watch movies and videos. I can take pictures easily. The phone feels more secure in my hand and I am not afraid that I will drop it. It doesn’t add any noticeable weight to the phone. Fits well to the back of the phone as well. Good price the the adhesive pop socket. I attached it to a magnetic disc to make it’ll the pop socket transferable between phone cases more easily. Looks really smart and great quality. It pops in and out smoothly.

As I get older and fingers get more 'twisted" sleek phones are increasingly difficult to grab. These phone grips are excellent and so far so not come loose, so be careful where you stick em 😀

Great to start with but now the kick stand flops open/no longer holds its position and doesn’t hold my phone up unless it’s in landscape and a particular position. Magnet strength and fit are good but long time functionality is severely lacking. Won’t be purchasing again as it just isn’t worth the expensive price. This is my second Popsocket item that has broken within a year of purchase, I’ll be looking for an alternative company. Edited to add the magnet has now completely come away from the stand

Firstly a good idea but seriously expensive for what you get. Item has lost its sticky far quicker than expected (a couple of months) as many others have stated. However I have given it more stars because when stuck it did the job and was comfortable to use. I have fixed it through the purchase of a quality double sided tape. £10ish is a lot to pay for what is essentially a plastic cupboard knob all be it one that can be flattened when not in use. Also when using and the sticky fails it is a juggling act to catch the iPad before it hits the floor, doesn’t give one any confidence in the product. Honestly would not buy again.

Lasts a long time, fits perfectly but does need to be removed for magnetic charging as well as attaching it to my particular car mount. It is made of a type of plastic material but it holds up surprisingly well. You do have to slip your nails under it to pull it off, in my case I’m using it with an iPhone gorilla case. But it stays on great and doesn’t loose its grip. I use it constantly on a heavy iPhone pro max.
