MagnaFlow Street Oval Straight-Through Performance Muffler with Tip

Magnaflow is the way to go! My exhaust was falling apart and I needed a new muffler as well, so I decided to replace my old setup with this Magnaflow muffler. You really do get what you pay for, though this is rather expensive compared to other brands. First off, build quality is exceptional. The factory welds are very well done and are leak free. The polished finish of the body is super nice to look at, and the chrome tip is a really nice touch. From the photos you can clearly tell that this is the “lipstick on the pig” so to speak. However, don’t think that you’re going to purchase this and not be required to do some fabricating. This muffler is a UNIVERSAL muffler, for vehicles with 2.25” exhaust pipe. It is not manufactured with any specific vehicle in mind, nor is it designed to fit any specific model. I know that for some reason people will still ask in the question section for this item, “will this fit my 2008 Prius, 2011 Forester, 2000 Miata, Grand Caravan, etc,?” Do yourself a favor and figure out what size pipe your exhaust system is running, if it’s a 2.25” pipe, this muffler will work. The inlet pipe is 2.25” inner diameter which means it is made for a 2.25” exhaust pipe to slide into. You will be required to either weld the muffler to the exhaust pipe, or you can cut a slot into the inlet pipe and use a clamp over it to connect to your 2.25” exhaust pipe. As far as mounting goes—you will need to weld an exhaust hanger onto the muffler body in order for this to work. I repeat, you will need to weld a hanger onto the muffler body in order for this to work. This thing weighs enough to the point that you don’t want this hanging off your exhaust pipe without any support, you will seriously damage your exhaust system and possibly your exhaust manifold if you don’t not affix this to your vehicle somehow. Any exhaust shop will be able to do this if your are unable to weld. As far as sound, I believe this mufflers size is geared more towards a 4 cylinder engine, though as stated earlier it will work with any engine as long as the exhaust pipe is 2.25”. In my case, I’m running this muffler on a 3.8 V6 engine. For me, it doesn’t sound much louder if at all than stock which is fine. In the case of a 4 cylinder engine, this will sound a bit more sporty, “tuner” comes to mind. Overall, this is a great muffler that is well built and does exactly what is expected of it. Know what you’re getting yourself into before purchasing this and do not expect it to be plug and play. You will need to have an exhaust shop install this or you will need to do the install and fabrication yourself. This is a universal muffler, made for a 2.25” exhaust system. Save yourself the trouble of asking strangers if this will work in your car, all you need to do is measure the diameter of your exhaust pipe. If your exhaust pipe is 2.25” this will fit. Vehicle model is completely irrelevant! I would totally recommend this to anyone in the market for a new muffler!

First off I just want to mention I have a Honda Accord (2.4l) and it sounds amazing. In terms of fitment, the shop I went to said the installation went very smoothly and from what I can see it fits like a glove. I personally like the sound, it's not loud at low RPMs and not crazy loud at higher RPMs. I also paired this muffler with an AERO Resonator so it might sound slightly different compared to other reviews. For the price of $220 I think it's worth it, the quality is amazing and looks good on the Accord. Planning on buying another one soon and getting a dual exhaust setup, highly recommend!

Anyway, this is the perfect muffler for those who are looking for a smooth, deep tone with virtually no interior cabin drone. It is actually my second time purchasing this same muffler. I had one on my 2002 Accord a couple years back, then traded to a Flowmaster (bad decision), and finally back to a stock muffler. Now, two years later, I am tired of the quietness in my car so I bought this muffler once again, and for $81 it's pretty much a steal. Me purchasing this muffler twice should be an indicator of how good this muffler is. And if you think it sounds good when you first put it on, it will actually sound better after short break-in period! Pros - Not raspy - Smooth, deep tone - Drone is virtually non-existent during cruising speeds Cons - Muffler tip a bit on the big side - Maybe too quiet for some people Overall, a good looking/sounding muffler.

This exhaust is perfect for anyone wanting a nice deep tone without sounding like you have a swarm of angry bumble bees under your car. It also looks so much nicer than the typical "fart can" you see on every young persons car. The picture is misleading but it's close. Not quite as shiny but the tip is polished and the rest is close but the welds aren't perfect as the pic shows them. The sound is deep and doesn't get raspy as you hit the higher RPM range. 2000-3500 is the louder range for me and it's nice and deep which is hard to get with a 4 cylinder. I have it on a 2005 Honda Civic LX Manual Transmission. Stock header, stock cat, stock piping all the way back. The resonator was removed so there is nothing from the header to the can besides the cat. I'll be adding a header and 2.5" piping from there to the can fairly soon so i'll update the review to let you know how that changes the sound. As of now though, it sounds nice and isn't so loud that I have every cop I go by looking at me. So again, if you're looking for a deep exhaust note but don't want the raspy, ricey sound you get with a fart can, grab one of these. If you're looking for something incredibly loud....this isn't for you. Go with a Apexi N1 knockoff or something along those lines.

09 Cobalt ss took a couple extra attachments, sounds good low and deep. should get better as time passes. 172 dollars for labor at Canadian tire. for this car dont take it too a dealership/ they want 275+ dollars for work.
