What is the best age of the child for this?

My daughtee received this as a Christmas gift shortly after she turned 2, and I think that was perfect. She learned her entire alphabet from this, and a few lullabies. My son is 1 and he will play with it, but he's not interested in it to he extent my daughter was.

Anybody have a link to the software? vtech took it down.
