Ordered two containers this time and found several hard pieces in each container. These pieces were so hard that they had to go right in the trash. I'm disappointed because I've been ordering these for awhile and these two containers were the worst yet. Not sure if I will be buying anymore. The flavor is good and a great source of protein on the run for a snack. I ordered the pepper flavor before and it was great but I can no longer find it. Be cautious when buying this product because throwing several hard pieces away is not cost effective. This is supposed to be company with high quality products.

It doesn't taste like the silver dollar jerky I remember. Maybe lacking some pepper.

When I was a little kid one of my favorite "special treats" was when I had enough money saved up to ride my bike to the liquor store and buy 4 of these for a dollar. The second I saw them on Amazon for sale, and at the price, I had to have em!!! Bought this one, one in Teriyaki flavor and Teriyaki Beef Sticks. Now every time I go in my kitchen, that favorite childhood "special treat" is just waiting for me to eat way to many! :) I've seen some comments that stated they came stale, hard as a rock. When I ate the first one, the first bite I did sort of stop mid bite and thought "this taste a little weird." Well, it was actually because they were so fresh, my palate was used to the semi or, full on stale stuff I'd been buying for over 30yrs. I ate so many the first day they came in, I ended up putting the jar I had on my kitchen countertop in the pantry because I could not walk by it without at least grabbing one...ok, at least 2...maybe 4;) Good stuff, great price. I think I may just leave a jar open for 24hrs so they do taste a little more stale just like the liquor store ones I am used to. lol

I ordered this as I recall using tongs to get large pieces of round jerky from a Tillamook jar. I had forgotten them. But found the jar here on Amazon looking for something else. Shipping was fine. The product was terrible. Shrunken to size of quarters and extremely tough. I ate one. Going to pitch the whole jar. What a waste and a killer of nostalgia. Update next day: well I did not toss the jar. I must have picked the singular worse piece of jerky Tillamook has made as my first. I shook jar and tried a few more. The smell is as I remembered the size is so much smaller though. This is Old Fashioned flavor. Maybe I got peppered in my youth? This does have smoke flavor though lighter than I like. Could be a softer chew but that is personal opinion. All in all not as bad as initial review. That first piece was not good. Have not run into another like that since.

I didn't like the flavor, personally, but my DOGS think it is awesome. As soon as we get to work they line up patiently to have one of these little beef discs sailed over to them. They fly through the air nicely, meat Frisbees, and are an excellent treat for the fur.

I truly love these little beef jerky snacks. There are many reasons why I prefer these to other popular and higher end brands of beef jerky: uniformly shaped, uniform sizes, easy to estimate calories (4 pieces is 90 calories without exception) and consistent texture. These are a great salty snack when you crave a small and savory. This kind of beef jerky clearly went through some kind of emulsifying process to get the beef into a paste, it is stamped through a mold or something like that so you end up with beef jerky that is similar to Pringle's version of the potato chip (uniform, size, shape, consistency, etc.). The jerky is literally like silver dollar medallions (title could not be more fitting unless they called them Beef Pringles), they are chewy, salty, and taste of hickory. If that is not your thing, order something else.
