A picture is worth a thousand words, so here are 3,000 words for why these perches were made by someone who doesn't know how to make perches for birds. When taken out of its packaging, I noticed the perch separated from the part that connects to the cage - I applied some bird safe candle wax to secure the two pieces and thought that I just received a poorly made product. The third picture was taken after the perch was in my bird's cage for 17 days - I noticed my bird started removing the abrasive surface the first week it was installed. My bird is a small Cockatoo (Galah) and she is not destructive - she probably noticed the abrasive substance came off when she was scratching/cleaning her beak and became amused and continued removing the substance for fun. The only reason I gave this product more than 1 star is that once the green substance is removed there will still be a perch for my bird to stand on. There are too many well made perches on the market to resort to buying this one.

All 3 of my birds love this perch. It's actually one of the few I catch my conures playing on while I'm at work. (Yes I'm one of those people with cameras to watch my birds. LOL) I have one conure that this perch is especially great for as one of his feet is now missing a toe due to a ID band injury. This perch helps him exercise his foot and work on his grip. PT is very important as he is healing. I highly recommend this product and will be buying more as they need to be replaced.

When I opened the package the wood part came out of the perch "unglued". Then the smell that was coming from them was horrible. I even let them sit on the table for a few days to air out and the smell was still there. A Parakeet would become very sick on this product? Not sure what chemical they use but the smell is strong?? They need to CHANGE their production. Love the shape but harming my bird is very concerning. I was the cautions one and sent the product back.

Just got these home this morning. Opened them up, size was good. I was pretty happy. Before I could even get the plastic off, the end that holds the hardware came out like a cork at the end. Not glued at all. I thought, okay, I will use the other one. NOPE! Same deal. And then I got a whiff. They smell like urine, yucky ammonia smell. Nope. My birds run this house. These are unacceptable. Back they go.

Arrived and the glue holding the plastic part onto the wood mount delaminated. I was going to glue them back on when I got a whiff of the smell...smells like cat urine!! Very bad!! I’m going to be asking for my money back on this one!

We love this because it adds variety in perch size for our beloved feather babies. It is important to provide them with a variety to strengthen their feet so if you're like us and have a Sun Conure and two Budgies or larger breeds, even, this durable perch provides that for all sizes.

My birds took to these very quickly. Seem durable and great for there beaks and feet
