T.W Evans Cordage 46-080 Number-8 1/4-Inch Buffalo Cotton Sash Cord 100-Feet Hank

Worked perfectly to replace damaged cords on 10 windows in a newly purchased very old house. It is a good quality cotton, the same material as the original sash cords as far as I can tell. The diameter is thicker than many of the cords I replaced but still worked well. I like that it is plain off white color. Bottom line: If I was going to get really excited about new sash cords these would probably warrant such a thing.

This is it. Look no further. This is the correct rope for those older sash style windows. For the past 3 years I've been slowly refurbishing all the sash windows in an 80 year old house my wife and I bought. There are 30 sash style windows in this house. I was able to find some sash rope at a local big box store but it wasn't as thick as the original rope. When big box stopped selling it, I was forced to look elsewhere. Thanks Amazon! Compared to some of the prices I've seen this is a good deal. American made.

I used to be able to purchase this in our hardware store, but then no longer carry it. I live in a 100 year old bungalow with double-hung windows that work and are original. This cord is perfect. It does not seem to stretch and appear durable, but its only been in the windows for a month.

Five Stars? Not quite but a good product with good value. This has a synthetic core but should prove durable for many cycles of use and seems to have good quality control. Appearance closely matches vintage sash cords.

I threw away my last purchase (and reviewed it accordingly). I don’t remember the maker now. THIS rope is excellent. It is a hard weave so it does not stretch and leave your weights resting on the bottom. It had no noticeable weak spots or soft spots. It is being used in windows that each sash is 40 pounds plus a similarly weighted cast iron weight/counterbalance. I fully recommend this product… T.W. Evans

I have a 1920s house that needed some sash cords replaced. My local store did not have the correct thickness sash cord (to thin) so I ordered this. It matched my old cords weave and thickness and works well.

Bought this to fix the counterweight mechanism to lift my windows. Worked well, fixed two windows so far and plenty of rope left.

This worked perfectly when I rebuilt our 110 year old windows. It looks authentic with its cotton exterior and its seems like it will last a long time. It holds a knot really well and doesn't fray too badly when cut.

The product is what it says it is, I fixed a whole bunch of windows In my 1930s home, and they were great now!
