The Mummy of Tutankhamun (DVD)

For years I have wondered about the little details which led up to Howard Carter's discovery of King Tut's tomb and with this production, it provided me with those details. And as a student of history, I so did appreciate the attention to detail to recreate, as humanly as possible, the historical locations, clothing and atmosphere of the adventure. In closing, this production did an excellent job of providing the novice or one who knows very little about history, an adequate history lesson of Mr. Howard Carter, Lord Carnarvon, the tumultuous times of the early 20th century and the boy king himself.

This was a heck of a lot of fun. Top notch production, and awesome story, which was generally true.

I gave this four stars although it was not a terrifically made watch. I am hooked on everything Tutankhamun. buy anything involving Tutankhamun. I learned some things I did not know, but it was not all about 'him.' it was mostly, as I saw it, a romance with veddy, veddy, English folks trying to get through a muddled script. hours of it. there is no heart-pounding excitement to be found here. not even with the (finally) finding of the tomb. the performances would have been served in a shorter presentation as the actors were lovely and sincere...but veddy, veddy talkative. sam neill is, as usual, excellent.

Very good documentary story about the find of the century. Excellent acting and the thrill of the adventure captured in this 4 part BBC story. Definitely worth watching.

Love Sam Neill in just about anything, like stories about great finds as well.

I was very impressed with this movie. It was well acted with beautiful, authentic scenery.Best of all, it revealed things that I didn't know about the King Tut find. I loved it.

Very good series; but not long enough! Great acting and actors; I recommend this to anyone that is interested in Egypt.

Really liked this mini series, cant put my finger on why it is so good other than it is about such a interesting time in history. very well acted. Sam neill is brilliant as always and Max irons does a great job as well. will watch again

A kitsch love story which never took place in real life dominates this production. I can appreciate artistic licence but when I view a story about the real life discovery of a tomb I don't expect the film to be dominated by a fictional storyline, there is quite enough drama in the true story of the discovery had the producer taken the time to do his research

Excellent product. Having watched the series, Tutanhkamun, on TV, it was great many to watch it again and now have my own copy.

not quiet what i exopected but fine for what it is

Re-watching this as i am writing this review and enjoying again.Very interesting to watch as based on a true story so a bit of history thrown in as well.
