This is a little stronger than my grandmother's recipe. She would soak her fruits in Jamaican white rum for months and then use those in her cake. She used some rum in her cake and the flavors blended well. She also used a little wine to keep it moist. I do like this cake but I would suggest to cut back a little on the rum to allow the cake flavors to shine through.

I was very disappointed with this item. My order date was August 12, 2020; however, the "Best Before " date on my cake was 17 Jul 20. My cake was dry to say the least.

There was nothing “wrong” with this cake in fact it was lovely and moist I just didn’t care for the flavor at all! It’s like bitter molasses. Two things I don’t care for at all!

If you’re a fan of strong, smoky flavors this is for you.It’s rummy, spicy, and dense. We find it very tasty.The cake is made of quality ingredients, and a bucket of rum.Ridiculously good.Think rum soaked, extra dense pound cake, loaded with English Mixed Spice(similar to Chinese Five Spice.

Really didnt like this cake it was a bit too heavy not what I expected

Once u open the box there is a smell coming up. It was put in fridge once arrived yet we had this smell along with the worst taste ever. We just trashed it. I would not recommend sending this to anyone.

Perfect taste of home (Caribbean).... LOVE IT! Will definitely order again and again and again!

The new Mexican vanilla is the best of the Tortuga cakes I have had! Hope this will be a new permanent flavor!!
