Original review in 2010: USB DMX controller works fine on Windows XP system but has problems on Windows 7. Software sees that a USB device is connected but won't communicate with it about 50% of the time. Contacted technical support and no solution available.User interface is clunky -- lots of wasted space at top of window which you can't eliminate. No preview mode like on a dedicated DMX controller so you can't edit a lighting cue without executing it.No chase to music capability. Should be able to create a multi-step cue and have it triggered by sound either from the laptop line input or from another program running on the laptop playing music. Need lighting and sound cues to be synchronized.This product is barely functional and could be much, much better!Updated review in 2012: ADJ released MyDMX 2.0 which requires new hardware - older HW no longer usable - no support from ADJ - total waste of money! Even worse, new MyDMX 2.0 still does NOT chase to music! You'd think with new HW and new SW they would have this necessary feature. There are better products.

Ok listen. I have rather large light shows for bands. And this is a very nice softesare. It has a preview so you don't have to set up your whole lighting kit to see what you have. I have very little exErience with computers or DMx but this works great And user friendly. You can find demo mydmx software online free

This is a great product, the software could use a better help guide, but once you get the hang of it, WAY COOL! Be prepared to jump through a few hoops to get this to run on Vista or Windows 7, but it will work on these systems including XP so you'll be happy. I love DMX and American DJ!

Bought this DMX controler for my church youth group. The software works amazing. Have been using it for about a year now and it is as good as new. I only wish it was compatable with Mac OSX. Other than that it was a great buy!

No 3d visualizer like 1.0. New "scene builder" FX are difficult to use. Interface will not work with any other software including MyDMX 1.0. The controller is very difficult to run. Setting each duration of each light requires "guessing the rate" between each scene. Scenes can only be built once the plot is hung because of the lack of visualizer in 2.0. Overall a poor upgrade. If you did get suckered into this like I did, it's much easier to build the show files in MyDMX1.0, save them and run the show files in 2.0. (at least they still use the same showfiles!). Before spending this kind of money on a computer based DMX controller, research other open source free programs and simple, cheaper USB to DMX interfaces. You can use the money you save to buy more lights.

I am used to manually running a light show. I wanted to try out a software-base lighting controller. The myDMX system was reviewed by a lot of users on other DJ and lighting sites. Overall the myDMX system was rated very highly and was simple to use. The system is basically free software plus the USB to DMX interface. You can get the latest myDMX software from the American DJ website along with the manual. There are also Youtube tutorials. It is an easy to use system that is stable and fun to use.

Das Produkt (Software / Hardware) funktioniert einwandfrei. Bisher konnte ich noch nicht herausfinden ob noch andere DMX Steresoftware kompatibel ist. Des weiteren war mir gar nicht bewusst, dass ich im DJ'ing Programm den Track in der MYDMX Software dann die dazugehörende Lightshow starten muss :-P Die Folge ist, dass selbst wenn man sich mt den timings der Musik bei der Erstellung der Effekte noch so große Mühe gibt, das Ergebnis bei zu frühem / späteren Start der Lightshow die timings nicht mehr stimmen und alles naja - eher wie gewollt und nicht gekonnt aussieht.Daher meine Empfehlung - wenn man sich bewusst ist was man will und braucht - absolut zu empfehlendes Produkt - zumindest für den Einstieg und wenn man wissen will was die angeschafften Effekt noch so ausser den programmierten "fahrten" (Makros) so drauf haben !

Das Interface ist gut Nutzbar mit Scheinwerfern verschiedenster Art, aber kann nur Programmierte Bilder oder Lauflichert ausgeben. Ein schnelles Ändern während eines Konzerts oder einer Aufführung so gut wie unmöglich!gute Lauflichter mit einem Knopfdruck programmierbar!schnell und einfach installiert!gutes Gerät!

.. aber die Bedinung des Steuerprogs ist nicht so einfach und halt kein Ersatz für Profi DJsGut das ich keiner bin ;-)

Wir haben MY DMX gekauft, um unsere Lichtanlage (momentan bestehend aus 4 LED- und 4 Brenner-Pars) einfach und leicht steuern zu können. MY DMX bietet dafür wirklich tolle Möglichkeiten. Schon bevor das eigentliche Interface eingetroffen war, haben wir die komplette Lightshow für ein Konzert einprogrammiert und mit Hilfe der 3D-Funktion getestet.Am Veranstaltungsort selber haben wir dann nur noch ausgepackt, angeschlossen und es lief sofort und ohne Probleme. Sehr zu empfehlen!
