Looks awesome but spray light coats!!!!
Looks awesome with Dupli Color 1k clear over it. Make sure you spray very light coats and work your way up to the coverage you need. It’s super thin like water and will run easily. If you do this, you will get a great finish.

Great paint! This paint really lasts and works well! I would recommend for anything needing extra protection.

Dupli-Color makes a fantastic cobalt blue!!! Yet, the can did get a little cranky with me. ('Tis the nature of spray paint.)
I had never used Dupli-Color but wanted a cobalt blue metallic paint to use on a gutted piano I am making into a flower and ivy center piece in my garden. The old piano is now painted in various metallic colors and ready for the garden. Too bad it is now a bit late in the season to see it in its full glory. Anyway, it will look great next year. Ha! :*)Using metallic colors has made for a modern twist on an old ornate piano. (If you have an old piano that you don't know what to do with but don't really want to get rid of there are some good ideas on, "Google images," that might just inspire the inner artist in you.) This piano belonged to my grandmother, so for sentimental value I just bring myself to part with it. Granny's legacy is now a beautiful center piece in my outdoor garden, and it reminds me of her and makes me smile every time I look at it.Back to the paint: This is an AWESOME cobalt blue color! Really groovy! (If you remember that word.) I tried Rustoleum's Metallic Blue first because it is - well, easily accessible. Rustoleum makes a "nice" metallic blue, but it is nothing like the Dupli-Color. Dupli-Color makes a much deeper, richer tone. (Of course, it costs twice as much, so it should be better.) Still, I didn't have a very large area to cover.Tip: I put a Rustoleum clear gloss coat over the Dupli-Color to protect it from the elements, which actually made it even more appealing.Con: The only thing I didn't like about this paint was that as the can began to empty it sometimes came out in spurts causing that dreaded dripping finish. (That could have just been my fault . . . But, it pisses me off.) You really have to keep this can moving - but very, very slowly - to get an even color. As a matter of fact to get the rich pigment I wanted I had to apply a second coat. That was the reason for the four star rating.Cheers, and happy painting!I'm going to try a couple more of their vibrant deep metallic's - probably the purple and green metallic - on other pieces just to get a real since of the product. But, for regular metallic silver, gold, bronze, etc. I'm sticking with Rustoleum. All in all I would recommend this product - just for the fantastic color.

Beautiful translucent color.
Because the paint is transparent the color underneath will show through. I painted directly over new calipers and the color started off very light blue. It gets darker with every coat. I used 6 coats to get it as close to the cap color as possible. The spray nozzle gives a perfect v shaped spray, just like a paint gun, and it works in any orientation. Which is very helpful when getting good coverage on an awkwardly shaped part like a brake caliper. One can was more than enough for my front calipers, but I don't know if I'll have enough for when i do the rears.10/10, would purchase again

Works for applications other than cars
I bought this paint because I loved the color and sheen. But I was unsure if it would work on something besides metal. I have the huge gorgeous pitberry wreath for my front door in a deep red (use every Christmas). After a few years of Northwest weather, the pip berry's were showing white and looking scruffy (they are not really for hanging outside in the rain). I tried one time to spray paint them with so-so results, until I found this paint. Omg, what a game changer. The wreath was restored to its glory. The sheen and the rich color are stunning. This is both an amazing color and a perfect shine. I would recommend it to crafters as well as the car buffs. A+

Not worth it
Shook it well over a minute like instructions ask and it barely shows any blue. It makes the surface look glossy so it's obvious it's spraying but basically no color came out.
