The text says lct 140 air, but the picture says lct 040......so, which is this ?? i don't want to bother with returns because this is labelled wrong.

It's the same one I got. It's the air. I know because I still have it favorited in my app. Not sure why the picture shows that though. It's a single mic not a pair either. Not sure why they show two...

Will this mic work for recording spoken word or singing vocals?

Would it “work” for recording vocals? Yes. Would this be a good choice fro vocals? No. This is a “small diaphragm” condenser mic - primarily designed for recording instruments (think, guitar, mandolin, cymbals, Hi hats etc. As noted in the Amazon description "For Instrument Recordings" - For vocals you want a “large diaphragm condenser” mic or a "Dynamic" mic. (also a condenser mic requires “phantom power” - does your set up have the ability to power a condenser mic? If not, you want a “dynamic” mic. Read the descriptions of various mics, they will tell you if it’s recommend primarily for vocals, go to manufacture websites etc. Some reasonably priced choices for vocals would be: Rode NT1, 2 etc, Heil 30 or 40, Shure SM58, SM7B, KSM27 etc. EV RE20 or 30, Lewitt has some other good reasonably priced mics that would be suitable for your application. Also look at mics geared towards Podcast recording etc. Good luck
