We had this whole collection when we were kids and our parents sold them in a garage sale to our great disappointment. We've thought about how much we enjoyed these books as kids and wished we still had our copies. Just found them here and I'm giving them to my siblings for Christmas. So excited! The paperbacks are good quality - they seem to be "hardier" than I remember them being back in the day. Covers are thick shiny cardstock and not paper thin. Colors are vibrant and clear.

My sons (13 & 11) love these books. Although I used to be against "graphic novels", I'm fine with these. They have learned so much history, geography, and even a little Latin from reading Asterix. We own about 20 of them, and they want them all.My 11 year old insists on calling "France" "Gaul".

A rather flat storyline in a flat land. This one is quite mediocre and lacks some of the vitality and humour of earlier works.The plot lacks the normal intrigue. The characters are not well-developed, there is no mystery or suspense. The storyline- a fighting contest between the Gauls and the Belgians- is a bit dull.There are some gags and allusions to modern-day Belgium but they mostly fall flat because this tiny country is not well-known to the outside world, and there are few cultural reference points. Gimmicks like cameo appearances or pagespreads are padding. Its Ok, but not very engaging.

High quality print, though I really wish the new publishers maintained the old style of printing full page paintings instead of wasting so much border space (in this book of the banquet).

Can't go wrong with good ol' Asterix! It's a hit with the kids!

Just reading this comic book again after all these years makes me remember my school years. It is so nice and the photos are so beautifully drawn with vivid colors and just amazing expressions!The thing i like about Asterix, is that when you look at any photo, not only the main characters are drawn to high detail, but also all surrounding characters and environment are so beautifully drawn it just makes you get absorbed into the story and forget about this troublesome world!
