Still great after all these years
This is the most non-toxic and odorless sealer around. I've been using it for 30 years. The original inventor worked for a conventional company and got sick from it so he designed his own safe product and began his own company. What would I ever have done without them all these years? Their products are the best. Made with your health a priority.

It doesn't work
I bought this product to seal off the off-gassing of the paint that was on my bedroom walls. Instead the AFM Safecoat made it worst. It off gassed a strong ammonia smell when it was first applied over the old paint. Then when it dried off, the off-gassing odor was even stronger then before it was applied. I ventilated my bedroom with two fans extracting 24 hrs. for a whole week and the chemical smell subsided some. So I slept in the bedroom for a few hours and woke up with a headache and chess congestion which indicates that toxic chemicals are still off gassing off the walls. The bedroom is now being used as a storage room. I may have to wait for a couple of years and use clay to cover the walls. Perhaps that will neutralize the harmful chemicals.

All of the AFM products smell horrible, for a long long long time!
We coated a large part of our house with the AFM products, due to some odor problems we were having from other products used during a remodel. And we used their Acrilacq to professionally lacquer our fine custom cabinets. What a mistake!!! We are 8 months out since applying these products. Although the smell has diminished somewhat (due to intense outgassing techniques), I can still not sleep in the bedroom that was coated with the products. My husband is able to sleep there, but only with substantial air flow. Please, test this product in advance before using it. No one should use them, except maybe on very small areas, and only if you are chemically resilient. I made such a mistake -- don't you!

A very good product
Item performs and is applied as described. Used a great deal less than recommended amount to achieve coverage and applied multiple coats. How it performs in the long run I can't say but at two weeks it looks good.

Absolutely did not work
This was the last resort to cover up Kilz oil based smell and to stop the off-gassing and the smell of safecoat was just as bad. It absolutely did not work. I even applied this on regular water based paint to see if maybe there was something that caused the new smell from rolling over oil based. Basically, this product smells awful regardless of what you apply it to. I had to remove the drywall in my whole bedroom. I have experience in remodeling several homes and would advise to never touch this stuff.

great hard gloss
it looked like water so i didn't think it would work well when i put it on, but it hardened into a beautiful hard glossy finish.

it did not work
We painted walls with a bad oil primer and after 2 months we still had strong paint offgazing.... We put 3 coats of safecoat on it and after 2 weeks the smell is slightly less but it is stilll very much there, to the point that next step is to remove the drywall. This did not work .installation with a sponge is very easy, it is pretty much like watering a wall. It dries quickly and leave a shinny coat.
