Kirkland Signature Roast Beef NET WT 12 oz (pack of 4).

I was quite hesitant about this stuff as I try to avoid canned beef, as most of them sold in the states are from Brazil. Swanson's canned white meat chicken has consistently been excellent, so I thought I would try to find an American made canned beef product. I live alone, so cooking an entire beef roast as I used to do when my family was still here, is just not worth the time and effort. It is just too much food to eat. These cans come in a nice size, a wrapped pack of four in my case. It had been in a my pantry for months and I decided to give it a try last night. I was cooking up two boxes of beef Rice a Roni and I wanted to make it into a heartier meal. I added mixed vegetables and added a can of this beef to the pan. No fatty or nasty, gelatinous, gristly chunks (as I remember from the cans of Dinty Moore beef stew) that we ate as children. It is good enough to pour over egg noodles, but most folks would probably need two cans of it for that. Tender, great beefy flavor. No overpowering saltiness and no nasty, chewy gristle or fatty chunks. It tasted like an all day braised pot roast. A great tasting and quick solution for a very flavorful meal. Highly recommend it. I am ordering 8 more cans today if it is still available.

This Roast Beef is the real thing. It comes in a can with big chunks of Beef. The can is 12". I use this as a go to when I am too lazy to cook or don"t have the time. It tastes delicious and it has many uses when preparing it for other dishes. The texture and price is very good. i am glad I found this product. I love to save time when fixing dinner. It's also a good sandwich meal for lunch.. The broth makes excellent gravy. Seasoned perfect I will continue to buy this until they stop making it..

I had been buying Kirkland Signature Roast Beef at Costco,for a long, long time. I found the product to be great in fixing a quick meal. Some time ago, Costco apparently stopped carrying the product, and I was very disappointed. I then discover that the food was being sold on Amazon, and I jumped at the chance of buying them again. When I received my order, I noticed that each and every can was dented. They were not badly dented, so as to affect the food, but they were not in A1 condition. I was really surprised that the items were not marked as "seconds", as that was what they were. They were being sold at a similar price as to what I had paid at Costco. In my area, there is a store that sells slightly dented cans, but at a greatly reduced price. So I am of two minds about this issue. I am not at all happy at paying full price for dented cans, (especially when the ad for the product did not mention that they were dented). On the other hand, I love the product, and the damage to the cans is not severe enough to affect the food. So I suppose that it is the "only game in town", and I will keep on buying them until the supplies run out. Addendum: July 24,2014. I was looking to buy another few cans of the Kirkland Roast Beef. Amazon had two sellers. One wanted $29.99 plus $7-for four cans. The other seller wanted $35.67. That was really strange because a few months earlier, I had bought the pack of four for $17.99. So I Googled around a bit, and discovered something very interesting. Costco might have pulled the roast beef from its warehouse store, but is still selling the item online. I bought 24 spanking new cans from Costco online for 84 bucks, and not a dent in sight. So..............if you love Kirkland Roast Beef, and have a pantry big enough to accommodate 24 cans, all is not lost.

We love the flavor. Now we use it camping and RVing and sometimes when I ain’t got time to cook. I glad Costco has it back on the shelf again. It is expensive here. Cans were dented. So….was mine seconds?!. I won’t buy here again. Why no buy here. #) cans dented, so i feel i got seconds. #2) much more expensive than at Costco. But we ate them, so…the dented cans didn’t food poisoning us.

How you like it depends on how you prepare it. Nice chunks of beef in a flavorful broth. I used three cans to make beef tips over noodles for two of us. I "doctored" it a little bit. Not because of anything wrong with the product, because it is very good. Kirkland did all the hard work in prepping the beef, I took it to the next level. First, I cooked cut up carrots in some Tone's beef base and water in large saucepan, added some frozen peas and canned mushrooms about 10 minutes before the carrots were done. Then I added the beef and juices, added cornstarch and a lilttle horseradish (great with beef, right?) let it heat through and thicken and served over wide egg noodles (or you could use rise instead.) It was quick and very tasty. For someone who cooks from scratch most days, this was a very good, easy to make, satisfying meal. Nice for weeknight cooking. Got me in and out of the kitchen fast. One pan clean up, little prep. Nice change of pace. Excellent leftovers for small lunch the next day. Highly recommend.
