Merckens Chocolate Coatings, Dark, 2 Pound

I purchased this dipping chocolate, so that I can do my own strawberries for Valentine's day. With very little effort it saves $$$$. The flavor of the dark is delicious, I am glad to have found it on Amazon and by the way, it came the very next day. Additionally, they are great for Molten Lava Cakes, Brownies as well as Ganache. That's why I purchased the 5 Lb pack this time.

Decent melting chocolate...Check, Strawberry's...Check, cherries...Check, frozen banana...Check. Large wine glass and bottle of wine...check. Wish I took pictures, quite proud of my work but....my wife ate it already. Advice to those who buy flowers and chocolates.... 🛑 I made chocolate covered fruits for my wife for the past 5 years. I usually go to the store to buy the kit but gave this product a try. Melts well, tastes good. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate but this was surprising nice. I think you get a better deal than the kits with this also. Things to get; Parchment paper, a very large wine glass, fruit. Heat up the chocolate 30 seconds in the microwave and stir up don't go over a minute at a time or you can burn the chocolate. Make sure fruit is washed and padded dry, dip fruit, set on parchment paper wait for it to harden again, place covered fruit in large wine glass. Accompany that with a bottle of wine and give your significant other the set... You made it so be proud. Good luck.

I love Merkins chocolate melts and these were great, they melt easily and taste good. The chocolate isn't as dark as it should be, more like between milk and dark chocolate. Overall still my favorite melts for making candy.

Great product. Microwave in spurts of no more than 30 sec at a time, mixing for a minute in-between to let the melting set in and you will have quick and easy to use melted, delicious chocolate! Great value for price. No complaints.

I'd never used melting chocolate before using this product, so I had nothing to compare my experience to. I used a cheap "fondue" melter I had bought a while back and it seemed to take forever. I poured the chocolate into the molds and when they were done, they hadn't filled the details in very well. Honestly, the chocolate didn't taste all that great, and went so far as to upset my stomach on more than one occasion. The next time I wanted to use my molds, I went with a store-brand product off the shelves. They melted very quickly in my fondue pot, worked perfectly with the molds, tasted better, and didn't upset my stomach. So... the Amazon product went out with the trash. >_<

I use this to make chocolate covered Brazil nuts (also from Amazon) everyone loves them!

The flavor is excellent but due to the size of the wafers it is much more difficult to get to a good melting consistency. It's a bit thicker than I am use to with the small chip sizes that I have been using. Price is also higher than I have been paying for another brand.
