I had previously added a stem extension but needed more. The 185 mm is over six inches of rise. It worked great. Screw was plenty long. Cables got a bit tight but the included spacers allowed me to get max height without modifying cables. Well built. Rides are more comfortable. Very happy.

I got this because my Trek FX 3 had its handlebars with a pathetically short max level for the handlebars and i was too tall (6 feet) to work with it easily. The curve gave me back pain and the strain made my arms and wrists hurt. This extension for the stem is kinda short itself, but it's the perfect height for the FX3 and doesn't require significant retooling of it's brake lines to work properly. Tools needed are just Hex wrenches. Remove the top hex bolt and loosen off the two side ones. Job can only be hard if you accidentally overtighten something, so this is very DIY friendly (if you do overtighten a set of hex pieces and an impact wrench/power drill can bail you out). I might have preferred more height on my bike, but with this extension I'm feeling some SERIOUS relief and thats amazing for less than 10 bucks. I have not put this piece through full field testing, but it appears to be made solid/sturdy aluminum and I trust it for my rides. Don't live with pain and discomfort if your ride doesn't work with your height. Buy one of these and look forward to a fun ride!

Worked perfectly on my bike, good quality. Comes with an assortment of spacers that was useful in positioning the bars. The more upright riding position relieved some stress on my hands and wrists. Glad I bought it.

Overall a really nice item for the price. I ended up ordering a second one because the first was not machined properly. What it was is the top receiving end for the bolt was at a slight angle and thus, the bolt stripped the thread and would not seat at all. Phooey! I ordered another and this one was perfect! While the supplied bolts were nice, I swapped them out for a pair made of stainless steel. (Most of my bike's hardware is stainless, as I ride in any weather.) Installation was very easy - took less than five minutes to do. Oh, and a very nice stem riser! The silver rings give a nice touch of class!

Ordered a cool Raleigh cargo bike but found the handle bars to be too far forward. I'm too old to ride comfortably in this crouched forward position. Option 1 was to replace the handle bar with a swept back cruiser bike style. Doable but I would have to replace brake and shifter cables and housing. Option 2 was to try this stem extension. Great choice. It arrived in 2 days(yea prime), it is well machined and mounting was super simple. It looks factory and does not appear cheap/aftermarket/retrofit. It came with various size spacers and a new longer top screw which matched the factory threads. The price was great and most importantly dramatically improved my riding comfort without sacrificing looks or performance. All cables were long enough. It may appear to be a minor adjustment but because my stem is tilted toward the seat the end result was higher bar closer to the seat Win Win. It actually made the ride more stable by shifting the center of gravity slightly back toward the rear tire. Because of the small wheel in the front I had the sensation of going over the handle bar when hitting bumps, now resolved. Older style handlebar stems are different. You would loosen the top screw and this would loosen a wedge at the bottom of the stem. You could then adjust the height of the stem within limitations. I bought this handlebar riser for my mountainbike because I no longer need the more aggressive stance that the bike offers. This nicely machined extension fit my bike perfectly and changed my riding position to one more in keeping with the riding I now enjoy. The installation of this riser did not require any changes to the bike or its components...it fits, it works and it is a good looking addition to the bike. It works well, even though the screw isn't long enough. I had to get one that is 1/4" longer.

Que dire de plus que c’est vraiment génial, surtout si vous êtes grand. La hauteur du guidon ne se règle plus sur la dernière génération de vélo et ce tube relève votre posture, terminé les maux de poignets ou de cervicales. Cela va vous redonner le plaisir de faire des promenades à vélo. Je recommande cet article très facile à installer.
