Marinco 12VBRS3 70A 3-Wire Trolling Motor Receptacle

Very nice plug set I expected to be difficult to pull apart works very slick. Terminals on plugs have a very good clamping system for the wires. Very happy. But it is a little bulky but that was to be expected

Replaced my old trolling motor plug and receptacle that constantly came loose and was starting to show signs of corrosion. The Marinco 70A setup is a major improvement. This thing is beefy...you can feel the quality the moment you pick it up. The connection is rock-solid and stays put, even when bouncing across choppy water or shifting weight on the deck. Install was straightforward, though fair warning: the receptacle is a bit larger than standard (at least for me), so I had to open up the hole I was mounting it in slightly to get a proper fit. Not a big deal, and well worth the extra effort for the upgrade. The build feels marine-grade through and through, and now I’ve got zero worries about power loss or plug slippage while on the trolling motor. Easily one of the best plug-and-play upgrades I’ve made to the boat. Highly recommend it to anyone dealing with a loose or corroded connection—this is the fix you’re looking for.

Excellent workmanship and great illustrated instructions

Upon arrival this is a beefy well constructed 70A Trolling motor plug. I like the wire sleeves that are provided. keeps the wires well together in the lugs. The Terminal lugs have 2 set screws that bind the wire in the lug. This is a very secure and well designed item. Well thought out design.

Exactly what I need.

I bought this to provide power from my truck to the DC/DC charger in my travel trailer. Works well. However, I was trying to chase down a high resistance connection in the circuit. Had voltage but no current. The problem was not in the plug but when I took it apart to check for a loose connection I found the connector set screws had corroded. It seems to me that a company who's first name is marine, as in Marinco would use corrosion resistance components in a product intended for use around water. (See photo) I ordered a replacement plug since I could not take the original plug apart.

No more cheap-built flimsy undersized trolling motor electrical connector sets! This Marinco 70-amp kit has the best & sturdiest receptacle and plug set I’ve seen in the 45 years I’ve been boating. It comes with metal sleeves that slide over the stripped ends of your electrical wires, and the sleeves then slip into a a hollow metal tube in the plastic receptacle itself. Then you crimp the sleeves and their enclosed wires with a set screw for a very positive mechanical connection. No weak-point butt connectors needed. I applied dielectric grease to all of the metal components during assembly. This connector handles the electrical load of my Terrova 80 all day long without getting hot like nearly all the others I have used. Highly recommended and worth the money.

I used this plug to run a new Minn Kota Terrova on my 1996 bass boat, and I’m honestly blown away at how much difference it made. My boat still had the old 3-prong twist socket with four battery wires, and no matter what I tried, it just wouldn’t push the motor right. I’d literally been bridging my trolling batteries with jumper cables just to get the thing to run. Once I swapped to this setup, the motor came alive instantly. Night and day. The Terrova suddenly felt like it had real legs — easily a 50% jump in power compared to the old plug. I didn’t even realize a plug could bottleneck a trolling motor that bad until I replaced it. And yeah, there are cheaper options out there… I looked at all of them. Read a ton of reviews. After using this one, I can’t relate to most of what I saw in the cheaper listings. This plug is fairly priced for what it actually delivers. It works, it locks in tight, it handles the load, and it flat-out lets the motor perform the way it’s supposed to. Worth every cent. This is a great plug/receptacle. I little expensive in my mind, however it is very good quality and easy to wire. It works great with my 24V Motorguide. **Note** It DOES fit 6AWG wire without any issues

Used this to connect my Minn Kota Electric Motor to my battery through the front hatch of my boat. Ive used a few time with no issue. Great price too.
