This cord kept my plants alive and thriving in high temperatures while I was gone!
OK, this cord is just amazing and works just like they say. I recently went on a trip and had to provide water for a large multi-level planter that does not have a sprinkler, but does have a shallow pond on one level. I cut the lengths of cord, put one end down deep into the pond, then strung the cord along the soil, covered the cord with leaves, and poked each end down into the soil at the base of each plant. Temperatures were in the 80s with very little humidity while I was gone. I was worried my plants would be dead when I returned. They were thriving, moist, and I think I’ll just leave the cords in place for now. Wow! I am impressed! (The cords do work better when level or below the water source. I had some of them running uphill, which worked, but less effectively.)

The Wicker Man...
I needed to find an easy solution for my 10-day vacation. My plants are precious, as I'm sure yours are if you are reading this review. So, I tested these out for a couple of weeks prior to leaving for vacation and then implemented them while I was gone and they worked like a charm. Not one plant was dead when I came back home. The instructions are minimal and it comes with a plastic measuring cup, however the 80 feet can be easily cut to your plant's need or liking. Please Note: Each plant is different in terms of how much water is needed, so take the time to investigate beforehand and also understand that water evaporates, esp in the sun, so factor that in (common sense stuff). Five stars for Price and performance.

Non wicking cord
I tested 3 Cords. This cord barely wicked in 12 hours. It is the one at the bottom. The other two were nylon cords i bought at my local hardware store and they they transported fluids very well. Very poor performance for "wicking" cord. for "wicking otedc

This wick is good for an earth box.
I have plenty of wick, but the plastic cup which I don’t need arrived broken.

Bad Packaging Method
The cord is good as self-wateriing wick. It works well. However, the packaging method needs to be improved. Once you unspool the cord, and the more you use it, they will end up getting entangled like a spaghetti. I have to unwind the entire length which was not easy as I have to remove the entanglement before spooling it around an empty water bottle. Why not spool the cord in a simple stick or smal tube like the way most cords are spooled??

Perfect ! for Hydroponic Gardening...
This product will ensure the nutrients get to the plants. Perfect for Hydroponic gardening. Thought we would try hydroponics as it uses less real estate to grow our garden = last year was good but this year will be better with adding a wick to each basket. Fingers crossed!

Vacation Watering Solution!
This was the best solution for keeping my bigger outdoor flower pots watered during the hot, dry summer weeks I was away. It’s too thick for smaller pots or plants that need less water. It is VERY efficient!

Wick worked great for not letting my germinating seeds dry out in the paper towel method. I put one end in water and the other end under the paper towel. I also use it to draw water to my grow medium in my hydroponic system.

I bought this not for its stated purpose, which is watering plants. I bought it to wick away leakage under an Heat Recovery Ventilation unit with a chiller. The condensate was leaking outside the machine and I wanted the rope to wick the water to the drain. Unfortunately, water condensate was overwhelming the rope's capacity even when I had four of these in parallel. It was a failed experiment through no fault of the product.

Looks exactly like advertised. Haven’t used it yet, but is what I was looking for.
