I have 16 buildings on my layout. Will this lighting kit work for these many buildings?

The Woodland Scenics Just Plug wall adapter will power up to 50 Just Plug LED's. Each Hub has 4 lighting ports/controls but you can splice in additional lights if you don't mind the dimmer controlling them all at the same time. Or, you can start with an Expansion Hub and plug the Hubs into it. Let us know if you have any more questions about the Woodland Scenics Just Plug lighting system.

are there different colors available or only white?

The Lights & Hub set only includes warm white. Other colors are sold separately (search "Woodland Scenics Just Plug LED Stick on Lights").

It looks like the cables for the lights are 24 inches -- what if I need to go farther than 24 inches from my hub to my building?

You can get extensions to extend your cables.

The 24" wire for the lights are way too short, can I cut and splice to make them longer?

Yes you can, but you can also buy the wire joiners and plug ends from the same vendor. All you do is put the wire ends in a small clamp piece....real easy.
