Artisan Griller 13" Pit Glove

These are some seriously insulating, protective gloves. They remind me of fireman's equipment! I bought them for kitchen use, but they would certainly take on any grill job required. I reached into a 400* oven and lifted a large beef roast out of a pool of bubbling fat with these on my hands and was bothered by neither heat nor steam. They have a slick band around the cuff so they don't catch on surrounding surfaces, but the hand part is nicely textured so you keep a firm grip on pans or food that you are holding. I bought the medium and they are a little large on my small hands, but it keeps them very easy to put on and remove. They are also a little stiffer in the fingers than ordinary kitchen gloves, but this doesn't seem to pose a problem unless you wanted to pick up very tiny or thin objects for some reason. They measure 13" from fingers to end. On me that puts them mid forearm, plenty long enough to keep from touching the sides of the oven or be steamed by escaping vapor. They also come in a plastic zipper pouch for storing. This is a lot better than having a pair of long unruly gloves rolling around your cabinet or drawer. The inside is covered in a generously napped fabric, Preventing any problems with sweating hands or skin contact with plastic. These gloves are an excellent investment since they are of the highest quality and serve both bbq and everyday needs These will last for many years!

I bought these based on product reviews, but as good as the reviews were, these gloves are much better than expected! They allow pretty good dexterity while protecting your hands from heat and hot liquids.They are perfect for putting racks of ribs in the rib rack and removing them when done. No more wrestling with tongs. They make saucing them during smoking a breeze. It even makes cleaning the rib rack easy because I can hold the hot rack while scraping off the burned sauce and chunks. I'm positive they will work fantastically with all other smoked and BBQ'd food. I can't wait til I use them on pulled pork. When finished, I simply wash my hands with the gloves on and put them in the drain til dry. After they are dry, I put them in the handy zip bag provided until I need them again. I have used these several times, and they show no signs of wear. I believe they will last a long long time.

Excellent gloves. Used them for all activities for my grill, smoker, deep fryer, steam/stove top and removing roasting pans and cookie sheets from the oven. I feel a small amount of heat when holding a very hot pan or handle where pressure is concentrated on the glove, but never experience anything that I would even say it's hot and had to drop the pan. The texture of the gloves makes gripping food and utensils easy, I particularly enjoy cutting my turkey and meat without burning my fingers. I have large hands and find the fit is comfortable. My wife who has smaller hands also finds the fit comfortable and flexible. The extra long cuffs do not get in the way and provides great protection. Cleaning the gloves is easy as washing your hands. I've recommended these gloves to my friends.

Awesome product. I use these for grilling with high temps. These gloves have made my life a lot easier handling the hot grill. Big note, while they protect from heat and burning, they are not heat proof meaning they will transfer heat if exposed to high temps for 10 to 15 seconds. Having said that, the heat raises gradually so you have ample time to take them off. I raked charcoal burning around 500 plus degrees to see hos long I could do that before feeling the heat, it took around 14 seconds. All and all very satisfied with them and highly recommend them. Pros. 1. Protects hands from high heat when raking charcoal or moving hot grates (500 F and higher) on or off the grill. 2. Easy to clean, use soap and water and it cleans off easy. 3. Durable. I used them to pick up a piece of burning lump charcoal really quick (literally picking a burning charcoal to toss it to the other side of the grill) and it didn't burn of melt. I don't think it even got as much as of a mark. Cons. 1. Smell. After using it for months it still has the weird chemical smell.

I love these gloves. I've been using them for well over a year and can say they never disappoint. They've easily replaced ov-gloves and other inferior gloves/mitts. They're great outdoors on the bbq, but also very useful in the kitchen. For the bbq they allow more dexterity than welders gloves or other heat resistant mitts, and are perfect for handling hot grill grates, adding wood chunks/chips with care, and picking up unwieldy slabs of hot meat like pork shoulder, brisket, and spiral-cut ham straight from the grill. No more picking up and balancing meat on spatulas and forks! They only times my hands feel borderline uncomfortably warm are when I hold and rotate my grill grates over my chimney-starter for extended periods to burn off and clean the sticky residue left over from the last cook before dumping out the hot coals. But I usually get a good 3-5 mins in before feeling the slightest heat. Pretty awesome considering the jet-engine heat that can make those grates get white-hot. I don't pick up hot coals or hold my hands directly over high heat, which is stupid, so I can't tell you how they'd do under those circumstances. They're great indoors for use around the oven for similar reasons. Get yourself a pair. Get your friends/family a pair for Christmas. Easy gift idea! Lastly, at least one reviewer gave a poor review about the dye coming off. Doesn't happen! The gloves can occasionally get white-ish chalky discoloration when washing with dish soap, which I'd say is due to fats/oils congealing in the nooks and crannies of the textured surface. I believe the reviewer mistakenly thought that is dye coming off, but it goes away the next time you wash them (or just wash them again if it bugs you). I've abused these well enough and they look as good as the day I received them. See pic? No discoloration, no complaints!

I spent a fair amount of time looking for a good pair of BBQ gloves to use while grilling and smoking meats prior to buying the Artisan Griller Pit and BBQ gloves. My local hardware and outdoor type stores were no help because they did not have anything that I liked. The gloves were either to short between the wrist and elbow, material appeared thin or the gloves were completely smooth and did not appear to have much grip. The Artisan Griller gloves covered all those areas I was looking for and work very well for what I do. They are very thick, but not to the point they are not flexible. They sit high enough above my wrist that I do not worry about getting burned when reaching in to my grill, oven or smoker. They also have a very good grip because at least 60% of the glove is covered in what appears to be slip resistant type material. It is only above the wrist line that the material once again becomes smooth but at this point, grip is not required. The gloves are also easy to clean. When I am done using them, I simply go to my sink with the gloves on and wash them as if I were washing my own hands with hot water and soap. Only regret after purchasing these is that I did not get 2 pairs at the same time, one for me and one for the helper.

I recently bought an electric smoker and you almost have to have gloves like this. They make smoking a lot easier. I usually wash the raw meat wash my hands dry the meat off and wash hands again. Then put a rub on the raw meat wash again, and again until you take it out. With these very high quality gloves you wash the gloves just like you would your hands. That is worth the price of the gloves to me. But there is more, you can wash these in the hottest water you choose and they never get hot. Same with the food handling you can move the ribs and chicken, adjust the shelves insert or move the probe and never burn your fingers or fore arms. It's an item that you wonder why you did not buy it sooner. I doubt they will ever wear out but if so I would buy again. I will buy them as gifts though and give to other smokers.

I ordered the Artisan Griller Pit & BBQ Gloves for my husband to use with a new smoker he was given. They were well-packaged and the pack has on it a transparency code, a small square sticker with blue T, which I understand guarantees we received an authentic product that is made in the USA, a point that is important to me. The gloves are heavy duty and very heat resistant as advertised, and the glove surface is textured to give better grip to hot, slippery food. They are longer than regular oven mitts, better for using when reaching into the hot smoker. By a fluke we were initially sent two left gloves, but I emailed Support at Artisan Griller and they politely and immediately fixed the problem and we are using the gloves constantly now with summer grilling season here. I love supporting this family business and a great product that is made in the USA.

Bought these gloves because of a recent purchase of a kamado style bbq. These are very heat resistant and easy to keep clean. Moving/lifting hot grills, relocating hot coals, grabbing a whole brisket. These can do it all with ease. I ended up with the 10/xl - excellent for large hands. 9 was too tight. A close family member who also bbq's tried mine, and has a pair of his own now as they were so much better than what he had bought originally. A must have for any serious bbq.

Not good at all. So thick u can’t even bend your fingers. They have a really bad rubbery smell as well.

Dachte mir am Anfang das sie etwas steif sind, passen für richtige Männerhände aber optimal. Sehr guter Hitzeschutz und durch die Gummierung einfach zu reinigen. Würde ich bedenkenlos nochmals kaufen!

When first pulled out of the bag I thought these were going to be a bit big, but youdo not lose any dexterity. As for heat protection... I would pay for these again a hundred times over. Pulled 4 butts consecutively today and didn’t feel any heat at all! Well worth the investment. My only regret with these is that they were not the first gloves I bought. Highly recommended!!!!!
