Works fine until..
This remote works fine, until the “OK” thin rubber cover deteriorates and crumbles and than you are unable to use the “OK” open, and it is used constantly. I could not get a Cox remote, so I replaced it with an “Xfinity” remote, it is identical to Cox’s except it says Xfinity where Cox’s would say “Contour” on the menu button. The infinity XR5-v4-U remote works great, and will last much longer.

Works perfectly
Yes, if you take your dead remote to a Comcast store, they will give you a new one for free, no questions asked. But, it will be a XR15V2-UQ, not an XR5 or XR11. This free thing is the most frustrating piece of garbage imaginable, so 10 bucks for the XR5 is well worth it to avoid the irritation. It did the setup with no problems, but actually using it is another matter. The buttons are too small, and some are the membrane type, which are really a PIA to use. The worst however is the mute and volume. My old XR11 would work pointed at the wall or the ceiling, but the XR15 had to be precisely aimed at the device being controlled (in my case a Yamaha receiver), or it wouldn't work. The result was that it took an average of 3 pushes to get the receiver muted. Unlike the XR11, the XR5 (this product) does not have voice control, but that's a small price to pay to avoid the extreme frustration of the XR15. Considering that some will burn $10 worth of gas to go to the Comcast store to get a free replacement, this one makes a lot of sense.

I can't get it to work
There were no clear instructions on how to use this or set it up. I even checked on line but unable to find them. So I am unable to use this remote.

Works if you have the correct version
Updating....Bought two remotes to have spares. One works great and the other won't pair with any TV but does work with Xfinity box. The one that works is XR5 v4-R. The one that does not is just XR5. Big difference in those versions with how easy they are to program. Have now been contacted by the seller with an offer to replace or refund.

Better than what comcast gave me
Better than what Comcast gave me (well let's be honest Comcast does not give). But I like these remotes so much better. The feel, the soft touch buttons that actually work with my fingers.

My Favorite Remote
This is the best remote to use withComcast. They had given me one without voice control when I set up my second TV and I missed it. I like the fact that it lights up when you lift it up, although that makes it a "battery eater" . I just have to remember not to keep it in my hand and wave it around.
