works great for regular table salt and fine ground pepper. Hole are too small so, no good for larger grain Kosher salt or heavier ground pepper.

We read many reviews of other dredge shakers and had concerns of the top not fitting right and holes being too large. Fortunately for us, this set is exactly what we had in mind since we do lots of BBQing and smoking. The lids screw on snugly and will not fall off. The holes are just the right size where you need to shake a few times, the perfect Dredge where one shake is not enough to saturate the meat. We are so pleased with this set we already ordered another set since we have a number of different rubs we regularly use. We used ours for powdered sugar, cinnamon and chocolate powder for our coffee shop! They're cute, easy to keep clean and would make effective salt and pepper shakers. Though I do think the salt would come out very fast so would maybe want to cover 2/3 of the holes if using salt.

I use mine at the stove to pepper my eggs in the morning. It holds quite a bit of pepper and does a good job propagating it over the eggs.

Love the size and shape of these Salt & Pepper shakers. They hold a lot of salt and pepper. They are very easy to use. Good Value. I like the stainless steel appearance. However, if you’re using Himalayan or Celtic sea salt it will begin to rust in the bottom from moisture. I used a plastic sandwich bag to line it and refill it.
