Good decision
Did my research, picked this scope, and very pleased so far. I was looking for a good tactical scope for my AR. Here are the criteria I used to make my decision: price, plane (First Focal preferred), illumination, tube size (more light gathering?), weight, length, eye relief, click adjustment value (Mil or MRAD), and reticle (other factors such as quick zoom, undercover turrets, & zero stop a big plus). I tried to be open minded and consider all brands that at least had an offering that would meet my criteriaThe scopes I considered for my decision include:Leupold Mark 6 1-6x20SWFA SS MRAD 1-6x24Bushnell Elite Tact 1-6x24NightForce 2.5-10x42Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6x24Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 EEAfter my review, the following scopes were ranked highest: Leupold, Bushnell (somewhat surprised), & Vortex.Leupold Pros: Low weight, short length, great reticle (CMR-W), good reputation and durabilityLeupold Cons: High Price (paid $1949), 0.2 mil adjustment (vs. 0.1 mil on other scopes), illumination could be better and tends to not be consistent based on your eye location.FYI...I opted for LaRue mounts (OBR QD Scope Mount, LT111). LaRue actually sells this scope with these mounts for a good price, but did not have it in stock at the time I ordered.************UPDATE, 12/7/2016After over 3 years of use, this scope is still working out great for me. Durable and as met every expectation. One regret is that I find myself wanting to use this scope on my AR-10, but the calibrated hold overs for 5.56 make this less than ideal. If you have or want both platforms (5.56 & 7.62), know that the CMR reticle gives you less flexibility to re-purpose the scope between the two (unless you mentally convert the hold over distance).

Fav AR optic.
Excellent LVPO. Its lightweight, durable, and easy to use. The illumination is great in day time, and night. The reticle is simple but really helps get your shots in.

the Mark 6 is simply the best! More importantly
Retired Army, have used Leupold Scopes for many years,,, the Mark 6 is simply the best! More importantly, Leupold stands behind their products. If scope fails you or doesn't stand-up to their standards, call them, they'll make it right!

Outstanding clarity and lightweight
Fantastic clarity! I also have US Optics 1-6x and for the money I would go w Leupold again! It is lighter and has amazing clarity at all points. Mounted in an Alamo 4 Star mount which has proven outstanding! Highly recommend both.

Simply Fantastic.
I bought one of these elsewhere for a little better deal, but I shop a lot on Amazon and wanted to leave my thoughts. This optic is amazing. First of all, it's far lighter than others in the quality and magnification range. Always a plus. The glass is super clear. Some of the best I've seen. At 1 power, the illumination is just the red dot, which is awesome. Definitely makes for quick easy shots. And at 6 power, targets out a few hundred yards are no problem. After mounting this, I went to bore site it, and it was almost dead on already. I had to move it 6 or 7 clicks right, and it was dead on. Results may vary, but that was a plus on my setup. For me, it was between this Mark 6 and the Vortex Razor Gen II. The razor weights more that the Mark 6 and the mount it's in. That's a little nuts to me. The razor is nice, but just too bulky and heavy for what it is, IMO.I do wish they included a throw lever (cat tail) with it for the price, but hey, we can't have it all for nothing. I would not hesitate to buy one of these. If you're like me and did months of research and it came down to one of these and a couple others, get the mark 6. It's a huge purchase, but well worth it, and should last a lifetime.

Mark 6 1-6x20mm
I just recieved this item and put it on my AR. Wow, it is expensive, but you get a true 1x with red dot for both eye open shooting, and up to 6x for distance. What more do you need? The hard choice between a good dot and scope have been answered by Leupolds newest scope line-up. It is expensive, but it is rugged, solid, great for the AR platform. You will not be disappointed. Buy once, cry once, but at least it is over and you have top of the line!
